The town is quaint with a small plaza (Zocalo) where all the little bars and restaurants are located, ( about 10 minutes walk from the villa ) There are swings and slides even a basketball court facing the ocean! on many weekends there are musicians playing in the plaza were you can hear them play! The beach is one of the nicest in the riviera maya with clear water protected by the reef which lies 500 yards offshore, one of the nicest places for snorkeling and diving because of the proximity to the reef, you can hire a diving outfit or just use the collective snorkeling for about $20 per person. ( there are many areas of the reef that can be accessed on your own with your safety buoy ) For those of you who want to explore the mayan ruins, this is a great location! Chichen Itza, Tulum, Coba, are just a couple of hours drive! Also underwater holes (Cenotes ) are everywhere! where you can cave dive or snorkel, plus many national parks like Xel Ha and Xcaret.
