The vacation home 'Casa Melanie' is located in Ginetes in the western part of Sao Miguel. The Caldeira Sete Cidades, one of the most famous attractions of the Acores, is a 45-minute hike from Casa Melanie.

The Verde Golf Countryclub has two golf courses on the Acores that can be visited year-round. The golf course located in Batalha (40 minutes by car) has 27 holes. The other course is located in Furnas (90 minutes by car)and has 18 holes.
