Activities:
In addition to total relaxation on the terrace, or by the pool, all the popular activities of this Mexican resort are nearby. The beach is lovely, and fishing is popular by renting a 'panga' at the new Puerto Los Cabos marina, about 10 minutes away. Jet skis are available on the beach across the street, and ATV rentals and horseback riding are a 5 minute walk. The colonial town has a lovely old cathedral, and historic architecture, and the shops sell traditional Mexican wares - silver jewelry, hand painted Talavera ceramics, pewter decorative items, colorful woven blankets, glassware, all extremely well priced. Cabo San Lucas is the lively, tourist town 20 minutes away, known for its bars and nightlife. It is an easy drive, and buses to CSL are easily accessible.
Restaurants:
San Jose del Cabo has numerous sophisticated upscale restaurants, and sidewalk cafes, as well as outstanding local Mexican Taquerias where you can eat very well for so little money. The exchange rate of pesos to the dollar is advantageous to US tourists, and provides a very cost effective vacation. Mexico is an outstanding value. In addition, the drug violence common to mainland Mexico is not a concern in southern Baja California.
