Attractions:
Disney World and Sea World are a little over an hour away on four lane highways. As is the Orlando International Airport. The Kennedy Space Center is only 40 miles away which has Space Camp and tours out to the launch pad. Patrick AFB Golf Course, Base Exchange and Commissary is less than 5 miles north on South Patrick Drive. Patrick Open Mess is 6 miles north on A-1-A. And if you want to get out on the miles of rivers, you can rent boats and Wave Runner less than 4 miles away on the Eau Gaullie Causeway at Haley's Jet Ski and Boat Rental.
Satellite Beach:
This is a most wonderful community. Everything is accessible by bike WITHOUT crossing a major highway. There is a shopping center just a mile away with a Publix grocery store, a Dollar Tree, Bealls Outlet (great bargains), hair salons and a 4-plex digital theater. There is a McDonalds, Subway, Taco Bell, Oriental Buffet and a Dunkin' Donuts. All fun places for fast food. Starbucks is a 1.5 miles to the south on A-1-A and is nestled in a shopping center anchored by Lowes. Satellite Beach has two of the most fantastic beach parks. Pelican Beach Park is a 1/2 mile south and the other is a 1 1/2 north on A-1-A. It is so new, I don't even know the name. It is beautiful. Satellite Beach has a wonderful library, tennis courts, and skateboard park a 1/2 mile away,
Great eating!:
One of the best things about this area is the restaurants. At the end of the street, just 400' away is a great outdoor burrito stand, Dakine Diegos and across the street is a great little Italian-Pizza spot. Cantina Dos Amigos is a great sit down Mexican restaurant less than a 1/2 a mile north on A-1-A. Gilligan's Cove Restaurant with an outdoor bar is just 2/10th of a mile to the south. Less than 3 1/2 miles is the Texas Roadhouse, which has the best selection of steak and a great atmosphere (especially if you like peanuts in the shell). Our most favorite place in the WORLD, is Frankies Wings and Things. It is across the causeway only 13 miles away and we just LOVE their wings. My wife and the youngsters get 2's but I have been enjoying the wet 3's and optional 5 sauce. We love it so much, we order a hundred at a time. It is a great snack when you come back from the beach and you want a little zing. Still closer to home and a local favorite, LongDggers III. It is only 1.5 miles away.
