The Villages and Green Valley:
The Villages has its own recreation center at no extra charge. The center offers a salt water pool, clubhouse, hot tub, library, hiking club and more. The Villages is a 55 and over community located 20 miles south of Tucson. It is part of a larger community called Green Valley which is an active and vibrant community. Green Valley is situated at 3000 foot elevation at the base of the beautiful Santa Rita mountains. From October through April, the weather consists of cool nights and warm, sunny days.
Green Valley Attractions:
Some area attractions include the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Madera Canyon (renowned for bird watching and hiking), Patagonia Lake, Pima Air Museum, Whipple Observatory, Tubac Art Community, San Xavier and Tumacacori Missions, Titan Missile Museum, Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies Spring Training games, Desert Diamond Casino and show venue, Sonoita Vineyards and Santa Cruz Winery among many other attractions.
Green Valley Recreation:
Our Green Valley Recreation membership is transferable to you for a nominal fee and includes 13 recreational facilities located throughout Green Valley. The facilities offer amenities too numerous to list, but include swimming pools and jacuzzi, tennis courts, billiards, shuffleboard, dancing, ceramic and clay studios, woodworking, fitness and sports centers and social clubs. There are beautiful golf courses and fees are reasonable. There are a 24 lane bowling center, a multi-screen theatre and local shopping centers.
Golf:
There are beautiful golf courses throughout Green Valley. 7 are public and 2 are private. Canoa Hills Golf Club is a 6,610-yard Dave Bennett design that takes full advantage of its natural setting. The Country Club of Green Valley is a 6738 yrds, par 72 private club. Desert Hills is a private club. Persons belonging to recognized private golf clubs may be given the privilege of playing the golf course on a time available basis. 18 hole, 6445 yds, Par 72. Haven Golf course is a public daily fee 18-hole golf course with the only par3 9 hole golf course in Southern Arizona. Kino Springs is a magnificent golf course nestled below the Patagonia Mountains in the Santa Cruz River Valley. The 18 hole begins in tall grasslands, winds through a canyon elevation change 150 feet and ends in the same grasslands you began in. Quail Creek Golf Course. San Ignatio Golf Club - Semi-Private. Tubac Golf Resort is a 27 hole championship golf course.
