Enjoy beautiful days in a typical Andalusian country house with its wonderful views of the Sierra Nevada. The comfortable and cosy apartment in this charming country house is situated in the middle of a 10000 square meter big evergreen orange-, olive- and avocado – orchard. The house is surrounded by terraces which are an ideal place to relax. There is also an attractive fountain providing the place to collect ones thoughts or a large pool to cool off in or relax on the patio adjacent to it. Or take a walk directly starting from the country house through the enchanting landscape of the terraces at the foot of the Sierra Nevada and hear the bubbling sound of the irrigation channels which have been here since Moorish times.

This lively town is situated on the south side of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It lies midway between the Mediterranean Coast and the city of Granada both of which are about 40 minutes away by car. As Orgiva is the capital of the Alpujarra region it’s infrastructure is fairly well developed. It offers language schools, different bars, restaurants, cafes that open onto the street, and a range of shops including supermarkets. It also has a post office and a cinema.

Notes: This attractive pool is 10 m long and 5 m wide and it is 1.10 m deep at the shallow end running to a maximum of 2 m at the deep end. From the shallow end there are steps leading into the pool. The pool is communal as the owners also have access. The water is floodlit which makes it a particularly attractive feature at night and wonderful to swim in even when the sun goes down. For very small children we provide a paddling pool. In the bedroom there are twin beds and two separate beds. The separate beds can also be put in the living room.

Es ist schon ein Weilchen her, dass wir Gäste im "El Azahar" waren. Allerdings schwärmen wir gelegentlich nach wie vor von der herrlichen Zeit, die wir dort verbracht haben.

Vermietet wird die untere Etage des Hauses, die obere stand damals leer und wurde wohl nur am Wochenende von den Vermietern selbst genutzt. Die Wohnung enthält alles, was man für einen angenehmen Urlaub braucht.

Absolutes Plus ist aber der riesige Garten mit Orangenbäumen und Weintrauben, die einem wortwörtlich in den Mund fallen. Ein kleiner Springbrunnen hinter dem Haus dient als Ruheoase. Zwei Katzen dienen als Spielkameraden für Kinder (wie geht es Canela?). Der Pool ist mächtig groß und sehr gepflegt. Der Ausblick auf die umliegenden Berge ist ebenfalls bemerkenswert.

Orgiva strahlt eine unglaubliche Entspanntheit aus und ist ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für verschiedenste Ausflüge. Wie schon in der Beschreibung vermerkt ist man schnell in den weißen Dörfern der Sierra Nevada, die ein idealer Startpunkt für Wanderungen sind. Trips an die Costa Tropical, nach Granada etc. sind ebenfalls problemlos möglich.

Wir planen gerade unsere nächste Spanien-Reise und werden sicher irgendwann zurückkommen.
