Hurghada was founded in the early 20th century. This once small town has seen enormous amounts of development in the past decade and now stretches 25 miles along the Red Sea. The unique underwater gardens offshore are some of the finest in the world, justifiably famous among divers. In the down town area you can find plenty of bazaars, shops, restaurants, bars, fruit and vegetable markets as well as the post office, telephone central, banks, money exchange offices and more... After the dark, things really heat up here and there's everything from lively restaurants to buzzing bars and glitzy clubs, one of which is Ministry of Sound. So it's just as well you've got those shimmering shores to chill out on the morning after. Its all about the sun, the beach, the reefs, the desert and the nightlife.
