People who love horses: In the area there are some farmyards with horses. Ideally for start or day trips through the valleys with apple plantations. Or ride along the atlantic. Even horse training is offered. In Jerez the famous Spanish Riding School is located. There are also some polo places nearby. It is interesting to watch!
Surfing: Only 45min by car along the Atlantic Ocean and you are at the beach of Tarifa. This is the Mecca for surfers. For beginners and professionals.
Trips to Morocco: Enticing is a trip to Morocco. There are different ferries that run multiple times a day from Algeciras or Tarifa. They are connecting to Tanger or Ceuta. Duration is half an hour to an hour depending on the type of boat. Don't forget your passport!
Ski: The skiing areas in the Siera Nevada are considered to be sure of snow from December to Easter. You need about two hours to get there. In an altitude of 2000m everything is offered. You can borrow equipment. Nice view over Grenada to the Mediterrenean Sea.
Golf: For golfers the whole spectrum is offered. There are lots of places in the area. Mostly in nice locations between the sea and the mountains. Right in front of your door there are the golf clubs of Duquesa and Sotogrande. For intermediates there is the Ryder Cup Place Valderama (6km) and SanRoque Club. Lots of tournaments for spectators.
