The studio:
The studio is located on the first floor of a four-floored apartment building that was built in 1930. It has been recently refurbished and consists of a small entrance hall, a simply furnished, wooden-floored, 25m2 living area / bedroom, an equipped kitchen and a small shower-room with toilet and sink. Linen and towels are supplied. Entrance to the building is secured by a digicode.
The owners are a Franco-British couple, who live next door to the studio. They are on-call if you’d like any help with the language or any inside information about the area or the city of Paris in general!
The surroundings:
The surrounding area is alive with cafés, restaurants, fruit and vegetable shops, butchers shops, fishmongers etc. Four days a week (Wed, Thurs, Sat and Sun) there are local outdoor markets. Père Lachaise cemetery, where lie the remains of Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, Balzac and many others, is a 5-minute walk away.
Transport:
The studio is well served by public transport: Gambetta metro is a 5-minute walk away, and a direct bus from the Gare du Nord Eurostar terminal stops 100 metres from the apartment. The centre of Paris (Chatelet) and the major department stores, Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, are both a 15-minute metro ride away.
