This charming year-round house is in the scenic New England town of Madison Ct. on LI Sound. Our house, at 108 East Wharf Rd,. is in a family neighborhood just steps to East Wharf beach, a life-guarded Long Island Sound beach popular with families and seniors alike. Madison is in the heart of the Ct. Gold Coast, a series of small sea shore towns where boating, beaches, swimming, and restaurants are all in abundance. Day trips to Providence and Newport, Rhode Island as well as Essex Ct., Yale/New Haven and Mystic Seaport and Aquarium are among the local venues. Madison boasts an Arts Cinema and one of America's finest independent book stores, RJ Julia where weekly book reading/signings take place. Madison's town green is the scene of a weekly farmer's market, summer concerts as well as antique shows and flea markets.

  • There are two bathrooms upstairs, one with a tub perfect for children and the other with a large tub and a separate shower stall. The larger bath also contains the washer/dryer...ideally located near the dirty clothes, sheets and towels. All beds have two sets of sheets and there are twelve bath towels in addition to ten beach towels.

  • Each bedroom has two exposures, A/C, ample closet space. All mattresses are new in 2009, all bedding is new. Master bedroom has a king size bed, two chests of drawers and seasonal LI Sound views. 'Quilt' bedroom has two twin beds, a large closet and a 5 drawer dresser. This room also has seasonal views of the Sound. The front bedroom, has two twin beds, a chest of drawers and two closets. It also has a small sitting area, perfect for a rainy day curl-up with a book. The den on the main floor has a double futon (not ideal for a long stay but perfect for an occasional guest). This room is adjacent to the powder room.

Notes: There is a large clothes line tucked into the corner of the backyard - out of sight but very useful! The completely enclosed hot/cold water outdoor shower is ideal for rinsing beach sand off before entering the house. The main floor of the house has A/C, hardwood floors, a CD/Stereo and a flat screen TV/DVD. The house has wireless Internet at your disposal.
