Photos and Description of this Les Arcs holiday apartment

Our chalet, La Ravoire, is an old Savoy farmhouse, which we rebuilt in the local style after a fire. Along with two enclosed apartments, it also includes one vacation apartment, which has a size of 165m². It belongs to a ten-house hamlet situated by a stream. The house is located on a slope at an altitude of 860m above sea level, nestled in amongst gardens, fields and forest. Three kilometres of unhindered, comfortable tarred road lead to Bourg St Maurice with its excellent shopping and the cable railway station to Les Arcs. La Ravoire is centrally located and ideal for reaching many ski resorts and hiking regions. The apartment consists of a spacious open living room with a large balcony and a panoramic south-western view. An open kitchen, mezzanine, a tiled stove, TV, seating area, reading area, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a spacious separate entrance next to an exclusive garden patio are included, there is a parking spot.

Surrounded by numerous local hamlets, this small town has approximately 6,000 residents, a train station and a good infrastructure. The town is surrounded by nature (la Vanoise national park) and located at the base of the St.Bernhard Pass leading to Italy-Aosta Valley. Nearby ski ressorts: les Arcs, La Plagne, Tignes, Val d'Isère, La Rosière, te Foy. You'll find cross-country skiing to glacier and summer skiing. There are many hiking and touring possibilities and snow until May.

History: 1969- 1970: got to know the region during a year of studies in Grenoble. *** 1975: opportunity to buy an old farmhouse in La Ravoire. *** 1976: construction of a vacation apartment on the ground floor. *** 1999: major fire in the lower half of the village. *** 2001:true-to-style reconstruction from the foundations.

Ski: The winter sports town of Les Arcs: huge ski network with La Plagne. There are a total of 420 km of runs, varying from 1,200 m to 3,250 m in altitude. Comfortable slopes to high alpine glacier skiing. Many sports are offered. Our chalet is located away from the tourist hustle and bustle, but still easy to reach. From Bourg St. Maurice, Les Arcs station is just 7 minutes away by cable railway or 10 km with the car. There is a free ski bus 200 m from the house.
