Arrival:
You can go via Helsinki by Finnair to Kittilä (alternative airport Rovaniemi is approx. 200 km away.), and by renting car or shuttle, approx. 50 km from the airport to the Winter dream houses. In the summer, you go by ferry from Travemünde or Rostock to Helsinki. Further on, you can take the motorail train to Kolari or Rovaniemi. Over the country way, you can go via Denmark or Sweden. (From Hamburg, there are approx. 2500 km.)
Ski:
This is a cross country skiing paradise (approx. 120 km of well kept cross country ski runs), with snow until the beginning of May. The illuminated cross country ski runs in Olos (aapprox. 15 minutes by car) and Jeris (approx. 10 minutes by car) are very beautiful. Directly in front of the “winter dream” houses, there is a private cross country ski run of approx. 12 km (suitable weather provided. However, it cannot be used when windy). Cross country skiing equipment is available. Levi- Finland’s largest ski region is only a 30 minute drive away (over 20 slopes, from blue to black, i.e. all levels of proficiency). Levi corresponds to the standards of many ski resorts in the Alps. More comfortable, but still with numerous ski slopes is Ylläas (30 minutes away). The most quiet ski resorts are Olos (approx. 15 minutes away), with 3 ski lifts and Pallas (in the middle of the National Park), with 2 lifts (approx. 20 minutes away). Alpine equipments can be rented in any ski region.
