Casa 'La Mimosa' is a classic cottage in a stunning , quiet hillside location near the medieval towns of Dolceacqua and Perinaldo, about 15 min from the coast. It is 400 m above sea level and is surrounded by a mature natural landscape with vineyards, olive groves and forests. You can really enjoy the good air, nature and the wonderful view of the Maritime Alps and the ocean. The cottage was lovingly restored and furnished with modern, new furniture in the country house style. There is a living/dining room with fireplace, 1 kitchen and 1 large terrace with partial covering on the ground floor. There is a hall, the main bedroom (2 beds each 140 x 200 cm) with air conditioning and terrace, 1 child's room with bunk bed (2 beds 160 x 200 cm) and an open hall to the third bedroom (1 single bed 140 x 200 cm) as well as the bathroom with shower and washing machine on the first floor. There is access to the property from the child's room.

Romantic Dolceacqua is about 8 km north of Ventimiglia and is the epitome of a medieval Ligurian city. Narrow, winding lanes lead to the town's landmark – the ruins of castle Doria. The elegant stone bridge is well worth seeing, it connect the towns of Terra and Borgo and fascinated the French painter Claude Monet over 100 years ago.

Fantastisches Haus, schwierige Anfahrt

Das Haus ist gut aufgeteilt (Wohnbereich unten, Schlaf- und WC-Bereich oben) und sehr (!) geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Ausblick in das Tal ist fantastisch. Abgerundet wird der Eindruck durch ein SAT-TV mit über 20 deutschen Programmen und einen Kamin, der an kühlen Juni-Abenden öfters für behagliche Atmosphäre sorgte.

Wehmutstropen sind die Zufahrten zum Haus von Dolceaqua aus. Die "gute" Zufahrt wurde während unseres Aufenthalts durch 2 große Steine blockiert, so dass wir die schlechtere nehmen mussten. Hierbei sind besonders die letzten 2 km sehr schwierig zu fahren, da viele Schlaglöcher vorhanden sind und die Straße so eng ist, dass der Bewuchs an beiden Seiten des Fahrzeugs entlang streicht. Unser persönlicher Rekord für diese Strecke: 20 min.

Die nächste größere Ortschaft an der Küste ist Ventimiglia mit dem größten italienischen Wochenmarkt (sehr sehenswert). Schnell ist man auch in Menton, Monaco und San Remo.

Tagesausflüge können nach Cannes, Nizza, St. Tropez usw. unternommen werden. Aber auch das Hinterland eignet sich für Erkundungen zu Fuß oder mit dem Mounten-Bike.

Fazit: wenn die "gute" Strecke geräumt ist würden wir im nächsten Jahr gerne wieder "La Mimosa" buchen, denn das Haus ist wirklich das beste, dass wir in der Region Ligurien / Cotè d'Azur bisher hatten.
