It is a Provencal-style villa directly on the seashore, built 1889 and totally refurbished in 2003. It is ideal for families with young children (equipment present, safe swimming), as well as for sailing, motor boating and windsurfing (all-year temperate climate). There is a beautiful secluded terrace in front of the house, overlooking the sea under large pine trees. You’ll find a large garden with direct access to the sea, including for boats, with small shallow beach and private landing stage. Two bedrooms have a balcony on the sea and air conditioning. There is a modern open kitchen with complete equipment, satellite TV, table tennis and barbecue.

Notes to the rental rates

• A charge of 80 Euros per stay (independently of length) is added to the mentioned weekly rates for administrative costs. Rates are all-inclusive. Discounts are available for longer stays week off-season. Deposit of 1000 Euros required (cash or credit card print).
  
• Cleaning: The villa should be left perfectly clean for the occupancy of the following client. A cleaning service is available on request on the day of your departure. The cost is 61 Euros (even then, the house should be left in a tidy state).
  
• Linen can be rented in advance at an extra cost: e. g. for 6 persons about 84 EUR for bed linen, 69 EUR for bath and beach towels.

Sailing and windsurfing

This villa is particularly suitable as a base for sailing, motor boating or windsurfing: a private landing stage is available, a gate allows hauling a boat into the garden, and there is storage room for equipment. The Giens bay is a famous windsurfing spot (European championships etc.). It is safe, as strong winds usually blow towards the beach. The beautiful islands of Porquerolles, Port-Cros (national park) and Le Levant are nearby.

Children

The villa is specially equipped for young children (cot with bed linen, binding cushion, pot, safety gates at indoor and outdoor stairs, small tables and chairs - no high chair for safety reasons). The shore in front is safe for young children, who like to play on the small shallow beach. Teenagers will make the best out of the activities offered by the sea (windsurfing, snorkelling, paddling, going to the beaches). In the holiday season, there are many opportunities for going out, either nearby at the small port of La Madrague, on the beach 3km away, or at the yachting port of Hyères (8 km).

Shore

In front of the villa, the sea is shallow for about 50 metres from the shore, forming channels, pools and hills with a depth varying between 0.5 and 3 metres. Except near the landing stage, it is grown with 'posidonies', a locally protected variety of sea grass (snorkelling area). A sandy patch in front of the sea gate forms a small beach, which is fine and safe for young children. Although it is not a conventional beach, grown-ups can swim off from it. The water near the shore remains clean thanks to water level variations caused by the wind, and tends to be warmer than in the open sea. There are small beaches on the South coast of the peninsula (500 metres away by foot, going 50 m uphill and then down), and large beaches 1500 m away both East (the long beach which links the peninsula to the continent) and West (after La Madrague).
