San Fiorano is located, white and shining, on a hill at the foot of the Apennines. The town exudes enchanting tranquillity. Your view will fall upon gentle, partially wooded, rolling hills, and a number of distant homesteads. This once abandoned estate was lovingly restored and comfortably furnished during the mid-nineties. The central feature of the building is the church, which is now used for festivities, dining and music-making, or as a cool refuge on hot days. Built around the church are the old parish, now the guest area, and the farmhouse, which is used privately by the owners from time to time. The building is surrounded by a spacious, park-like garden, with cypresses, pines, a pond with water lilies, and a pool which is open from mid-May to mid-October. The sea is a 40-minute drive by car. The rising mountains of the Apennines, with their walking and hiking paths, are also 30-to-45-minutes' drive away.

San Fiorano is located 8 km from Cagli (approximately 9,000 residents). Here you'll discover winding alleys, a lovely piazza with cafes and bars, a beautifully restored theatre featuring regular performances by international artists, and all the shops and businesses you'll need. The small town of Aqualagna, Marche's truffle center, is located 12 km away. It has an annual truffle market and a number of very good restaurants. A rich cultural program is available throughout the year in the immediate vicinity. Discover small, elegant towns with historic centers, such as Fano by the sea, or the renaissance city of Urbino, which features the Duke of Montefeltro's magnificent Palazzo Ducale, as well as Raffael's birth house. Umbria and Tuscany are also in the vicinity, and cities such as Florence, Siena, and Gubbio can easily be reached by car on day trips.

  • San Fiorano Guest House has space for 6 people. Upon prior request, a lovely additional room, the so-called 'Library,' can be furnished with two additional beds, thus providing space for up to 8 people. There is an additional fee of €100 to €200 for this, according to the season. The church is available throughout the year (not heated), and the pool is open from mid-May to mid-October. It is possible to rent the entire estate exclusively (maximum 10 people) upon prior inquiry. This includes an additional bedroom with a double bed, an extra bathroom, an additional living room with a fireplace, TV, stereo, telephone, and another, fully equipped kitchen with a dining table suitable for 12 people. Price available upon request.
  • All prices include water, electricity, gas for cooking, hot water, weekly cleaning (including change of linens), as well as bedding, kitchen towels and bathroom towels. There are additional charges for the telephone (unit price according to meter), as well as for firewood, and gas for central heating (both to our cost).

Heavenly holidays: While renovating the old church property, we have paid great attention to maintaining the building's historic structure and materials. At the same time, we didn't shy away from integrating modern materials, using them in a manner in which they harmonize with the historic. In this way, a bright, clear spot has been created, which is ideal for relaxing and tanking up on energy. Restorations were so successful, that San Fiorano has been featured in 'Gala' magazine (issue# 39, September 2000) under the heading 'Lifestyle/Home,' on page 3, as well as in 'Schöner Wohnen' (issue 2) under the title of 'Blessed Holidays.' The later included seven pages of descriptions and photographs.
