Helping you to find us:
We recommend that you come with your own car. The motorways are wonderful. Or else fly to Valencia (approx. 100 km) or to Alicante (approx. 70 km). If you fly you can rent a car from the airport. Rent a car through me from a local, reasonably priced car hire firm, so that it’s waiting for you at the airport. If you prefer we can collect you.
The surroundings:
There are tennis and golf courses nearby. There’s a go-kart track for motor enthusiasts. You can rent a bike or motor bike and drive in the mountains. Go surfing, fishing or diving in the sea. Our three small, clean sandy beaches are flat and just right for children. The water quality is wonderful. If you like getting up early you can go to the fish auction hall in the early hours. Or discover the traces of an earlier civilisation in the little villages of the Costa Blanca. You can find Moorish mosques, Roman theatres and west Goth settlements as well as baroque cathedrals. Costa Blanca still retains the lovely way of life so admired by most Europeans. There are lots of festivals the whole year through.
Tourism in Moraira:
The best attractions are the divina pastora and ‘Catalina’ church which have Gothic and Renaissance building features, as well as one of the oldest organs in the region. Moraira Tower, built to repulse attacks in the 18th century, is a potent symbol of the town. On Moraira harbour you’ll see the 'Cap d’Or' watch tower built by Phillipp II, also a symbol of the town. In commemoration of it there’s a big festival in June called “Christians against the Moors” with picturesque processions. Even in the smallest villages of Costa Blanca you’ll find traces of different civilisations. You can find Moorish mosques, Roman theatres and west Goth settlements as well as baroque cathedrals.
