Beautiful old stone house dated back to 1780

Podernovo lies just outside the town of Monticiano. It offers all necessary services including a bank, a pharmacy, a supermarket, a restaurant, a wine bar and bus service to Siena and Grosseto. A short distance away we find the Abbey of S. Galgano and the Chapel of Montesiepi with the amazing sword in the rock, the hot springs of Petriolo still in their natural state and walking towards the woods, the banks of the river Merse with crystal clear water. The panorama consists mainly of typical Mediterranean flora: maritime pines, live-oak trees, chestnut trees. The farmhouse consists of two stone buildings: S. Maria the main building which holds the apartments and an old barn where you find the meeting room, the large professional kitchen and the indoor’s eating space. Next to them is the traditional wood oven the thrashing ground with pine trees and meadows in the background. Below the property fields is the horse training ring where the Sienese train their horses for the Palio.

The estate stands in a quite and secluded position only five minutes away on foot from the village of Monticiano. From Podernovo you can visit easily lovely medieval villages such as Colle Val d’Elsa (30 min by car), S. Gimignano and Volterra (40 min), Massa Marittima with its beautiful Duomo(30 min), Murlo and its gorgeous Etruscan museum (30 min), the Val D'Orcia and Montalcino the region of the best red wines and the Brunello.
