SPECIAL OFFER: Take a full week in March and get the winter rate! The secluded, gated community known as Monterey Dunes Colony offers this beachfront luxury home for your pleasure. The home offers 4 BR and 3 1/2 BA situated in 2,500 sq. ft. of living area on two levels. It was completely remodeled in 1992, making it unique in the Colony. Two decks on the home, non-Oceanside and Oceanside. This luxurious home features a fireplace (firewood furnished), satellite TV, DVD/VCR, four televisions, full kitchens with disposal, dishwasher and built-in microwaves. Portable crib/playpen for infants. Two car garages, washer and dryer are furnished with the home. The complex where these homes are located is gated and four tennis courts are provided, as well as a swimming pool, hot tub, basketball court, pitch and putt practice area, bocce ball court and shuffleboard court. Luxury for eight, maximum capacity nine.

Our family have been renting the crown Jewel for the past 6 years and we have no plans of stopping our yearly treck. The house is roomy with king size beds in 3 of the 4 bedrooms and a queen in the 4th bedroom or loft. All the beds are oh so cozy. The master bedroom has a spectacular ocean view. The living area, dining and kitchen has a great view of the ocean as well. The kitchen is well stocked with 2 refrigerators. Our yearly stays always include a day of kite flying as well as adventures in Monterey, Moss Landing and the Santa Cruz area. The owners are pleasant and easy to work with. I recommend the crown jewel to anyone who loves watching the ocean. Have enjoyed the wildlife which includes dolfins, seals, as well as whales this past trip.
Owner's Response: We're very pleased that Bob and Pam love our place so much, since this home was our second home until we moved to Pacific Grove and put it on the rental market. Half of our rentals come from repeaters like Bob and Pam, and the other half comes from the internet. The only headache is people who try to make a reservation with too little advance notice and find it full, particularly during the Summer and on the Holidays.

We had a family vacation at the crown jewel this summer and could not have been more pleased. The house was gorgeous- the views to die for. Everything you could want was in the house- from beach toys and towels to extra fold-out sleeping pads- perfect for any extra kids coming along. It is so nice to hear the waves breaking in the distance. We went in the pool and hot tub every day- such a nice perk!

My only suggestion would be to offer high speed internet access (though, luckily, we were able to access a neighbor's wireless sporadically)

I absolutely hope to stay here again!
Owner's Response: We're pleased that this renter was so enthusiastic in her praise of the Crown Jewel, which is called that because it is a Jewel. We're also in negotiations to provide high speed internet access in the future, since this is now typically expected in high end properties like the Jewel.

Beach House

I invited my "extended" family to stay with my husband & I at the beach house in order to attend my daughter's college graduation ceremony since we reside in Washington State. Everyone was pleased with my selection and inquired on how I found this great place,however, we didn't have an alarm clock to wake us up and in the four bedrooms...we couldn't find one! Luckly...we managed to get up early enough and arrive on campus in time for the cermony and all went well!
Owner's Response: We're very pleased that R&J took the time to write the review. We were not aware that the alarm/radio we normally provide was missing, and it has been replaced since this review alerted us.

We always hope renters will tell us when things are missing or they don't find something they expected to, so we can continually improve our home to be attractive to future renters.
