Town and harbor in amazing estuary of river Cetina. The chief occupation is fishing, farming, textile and grocery industry and tourism. The old and modern parts of the town are completely separated. The old town of Omiš is under the steep cliffs with narrow streets and little squares. 1 km long beach is on the west. In the front of the beach are large flats, made of the river Cetina. Sand beaches are from village Stanici to the southeast. Near villages located near southeast coast Duce and Dugi Rat are great place for quiet vacation and offer accommodation in apartments or provate rooms. Reminds of Romans village Oneum are located in the village Barak, above the town Omiš. In the Middle Ages was Omiš the fortified town with pirate’s fort. Omiš became under Venetian dominate in the middle of 15th century. Reminds of fort Starigrad on the rock’s hill are from 15th century as well. In the centre of the old town are reminds of Middle Age’s town wall with town gate.

Duce is a series of small settlements in Poljica, the area between the foot of the Mosor mountainous chain and the sea. It belonged in the past to the famous Poljice Republic ruled by the Grand Duke according to the decrees of the Poljice Statute. Such a heritage has left an indelible imprint on that place which is proud of its preserved examples of popular rural architecture. Trips in surroundings of Dugi Rat are organized to the old villages in the foot of Mt Mošnjica such as: Staro Duce, Zeljovici, Krug and Staro Jesenice where there are about 300 nice old preserved stone houses. All of these villages follow the same pattern; they all have streets, roads, small squares, centres that are mostly in the vicinity of the church or school, and fileds. Surrounded by luxuriant vegetation, far from the city noise or any industry whatsoever, enjoying non-polluted air, mild climate and above all a magnificent view of the sea and islands (Brac, Hvar, Solta), they are something that every tourist will be impressed by at first sight.

Wir reisen in diesem Jahr zum dritten Mal ins gleiche Haus.
Die Ausstattung der Zimmer sind landestypisch sehr gut. Jedes unserer Zimmer war klimatisiert. Die sanitären Anlagen waren sehr sauber.
Der Ausblick ist traumhaft. Der Strand ist sauber.
Die Stadt Omis ist schnell erreichbar und bietet viel Kultur.
Alles in allem kann ich dieses Appartment sehr empfehlen.
