The living space is 135 m². The typically Provencal furnished house is prepared for 6 adults and 2 children. In the ground floor you find the big living room with open chimney, American kitchen, pantry and new bathroom. In the first floor you find three sleeping rooms and another bathroom. The extended loft (1.40 – 1.80 m) is ideal for children. The big roofed summer kitchen has a pizza stove and a barbecue. Ten persons will find a seat there. The 30 m² big south terrace has a nice view over the green landscape. The pool (10 x 5 m) which will be constructed completely new in spring 2007 is established in the middle of the 1,650 m² big, nearly flat garden. The garden has great spaces for children to play. There is also a children’s house with heating and electricity established where children have their own space to play. In the garden, there are 15 olive trees, some of them are very old, palm trees and other nice plants. The premises are not viewable from outside and have 2 entries.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The rental includes linen, towels and extras. From 1st October until 30th April € 40 will be charged for heating. The wood for the chimney is here included.
  • 30 % deposit due on booking. The rest of the payment has to be received 14 days before occupation. Final cleaning € 90 (6 Persons and more € 120): To be paid with the rest of the payment. For every dog the end cleaning is € 20. Security € 500 to be paid with the rest of the payment. The security will be paid latest 10 days after the day of leaving.
  • If the period consists of two different prices we calculate on a daily basis. Check-in on Saturday afternoon from 3 p.m., check-out on Saturday morning latest 9.30 a.m. (local time).

Shopping: Vence has a nice mixture of different shops and super markets. Tourrettes itself has two bakers, two butchers and a vegetable seller, who also sells most important food. Also there's a chemists and a magazine shop.

Golf: The area has a big amount of different golf courts.

Lovely family holiday

We had a lovely holiday here with our 3 children aged 7,5,2 and my parents. Unfortunately there was a mix-up re arrangements for getting the keys which led to a stressful start to the holiday and we could not reach the lady locally who was our contact on either number we were given. Also parked in the wrong place (had no info re this) and had a cross neighbour ringing the bell late at night for us to move the car. After this tough start we had a lovely time. The house was clean and well maintained but the top room is hot even with the fan that was provided (fans in all bedrooms). There were 2 outside eating areas and the gardens were lovely and well maintained. The pool area was lovely and the children loved the playhouse. Gardeners turned up for the day without warning but we did not mind especially when the grounds were so nice and well maintained but this might bother some people. The area is quiet but the neighbour shouted when our children were a bit noisy once. You can walk from the village in approx 30 minutes and taxis are not always easy to find and are expensive. The village is quiet in the evenings but there are plenty of places to eat out. Good supermarket in Vence and shops in Tourettes for fresh produce. Good tourist information leaflets provided in the house.

I'm very sorry about the problems at your arrival. It was my fault that I did send you the email with this information for the keys too late. (Thought that you'll check your mails shortly before departure). In future this will not happen again. The situation with the parking place of the neighbour is from now on included in our general informations for the house. The same will be for the arrival of the gardener. Normally he comes every Saturday morning for four hours. It can be when it is very hot that he has to take a look at the pool under the week. When the water is very hot it can "tip" over and get green in a very short time. Then he has to make an extra cleaning and check that this will not happen. This situation we had this summer for about two weeks. I included all this in our infos.
At last I want to thank you for your review. So the service for the guests can be improved. I'm glad about the good things you wrote and that you and your family enjoyed your holidays despite this desaster at the arrival.

Wir haben uns in diesem wunderschönen Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Mit den Kindern ließ es sich auf dem großen Grundstück entspannt leben. Die Gegend hier ist wunderschön, wir haben sie genossen.

Schon bei der Ankunft waren wir positiv überrascht, dass die Bilder auch der Wirklichkeit entsprachen. Sehr idyllisch gelegenes Ferienhaus, gepflegter Garten und Pool, entzückendes Kinderhaus.Im Haus ist alles sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, sehr gute Ausstattung mit Geschirr und Küchenutensilien, v.a. war alles sehr sauber und gepflegt und bestand nicht aus irgendwelchen zusammengestellten "Restbeständen".Leider hatten wir in der ganzen Zeit fast nur schlechtes Wetter mit viel Regen, aber da wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben in dem Haus und alles sehr gemütlich war, haben wir uns dennoch sehr erholen können.Zumal es "richtige Bettdecken" und nicht -wie in Frankreich üblich- irgendwelche Wolldecken mit Bettlaken gab.Insgesamt muss man sagen, dass - obwohl nicht alles komplett neu renoviert erscheint- alles sehr sauber war und das haben wir auch schon anders erlebt in Frankreich.Schade fanden wir nur, dass es doch eher weit zum nächsten Bäcker/Einkaufen und wir aufgrund der doch sehr befahrenen Hauptstrasse auf dem Weg zum Ort das Auto bevorzugt haben.Ansonsten ist die Lage sehr gut (wenn man ein Auto hat), eine völlig ruhige Umgebung und man kann von dort aus vieles unternehmen.

Sommer in der Provence

Schon, als wir das erste Mal die Bilder im Internet von diesem Domizil sahen, haben wir uns darein verliebt!!!
Glücklicherweise wurden unsere ERwartungen bei der Ankunft nicht enttäuscht - ganz im Gegenteil! Wir haben ein typisch provenzalischens Häusschen in gepflegtem Zustand vorgefunden, das alle Annehmlichkeiten bot. Vorallem der in Terrassen angelegte Garten mit seinem großen Pool hatte es uns angetan. Direkt neben dem Schwimmbad befindet sich unter Glyzinien eine Boul-Bahn und ein Gartenhaus für Kinder!
Freundlich wurden wir empfangen und in das Haus eingewiesen. Die Küche blieb meistens kalt, denn die Sommerküche im Freien mit Pizzaofen hatte es uns besonders angetan. Kulturell ist die Gegend für jeden Kunstliebhaber ein Eldorado! Zur Information haben die Eigentümer etliche Reiseführer und Kunstbände in ihren Bücherregalen stehen.
Wenn wir etwas bemäkeln müssten,. dann vielleicht, dass das untere Bad sehr dunkel ist, aber da wäre mit einer anderen Lampe schnell Abhilfe geschaffen.
