Acadia Seaside Cottage on Mt. Desert Island is located just 1 1/2 miles from the Main Entrance to Acadia National Park. and only 400ft. from the Atlantic Ocean with Access to Shore. You can Launch Canoes or Kayaks from the Cottage. Located in the Acadia Coastal Village of Hulls Cove and only 4 Miles from Downtown Bar Harbor, you are in a Conveniently Located Spot. Quiet Neighborhood, Located off the Main Road, Gives you the Seclusion you want with Ready Availability to All the Action of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Pk. There are also Attractions with in 1/2 miles from the Cottage. There is Pirates Cove , a Min. Golf Course, Stargaze on the Deck at night or Enjoy Coffee in the morning with the Sun Coming Up. Walking the Shoreline, Looking for Seashells or Sea glass is fun. The Island offers Free Transportation also that goes all over the Island. It will pick you up right by the Cottage and bring you back after a day of Sightseeing or Shopping or maybe one Too Many Cocktails

Atlantic Shore Line: The Cottage is only 400 ft. from the Atlantic Shore Line. You can Walk to the Shore Anytime and Watch the Fishing Boats and other Boats go by. You could Relax on the Very Private Pebble Stone Beach, to the right of the shore, and have a Picnic or lay in the Sun or go Swimming. When the Tide is coming in it is actually warm coming in over the Hot Rocks. Look for Sea Glass or Sea Shells or just kick back and Relax. If you go to your left on the shore you will come to what we call 'The Oven's'. They are small caves in the wall of the stone ledge. You can also launch Kayaks and Canoes from the cottage or ride your bikes to Acadia National Pk., 1 1/2 miles, or into the village of Bar Harbor, 4 miles.

Cottage Surroundings: The cottage is located off the main rd. in a quiet wooded area and is on a circle that goes down around the water front where you can walk down to the shore any time you like. There is not a lot of traffic because it is more or less a dead end. The cars travel slow. There are no house's across the street or behind you. There is one cottage that is about 100 ft. away that may be occupied and towards the shore the house's are vacant most of the time. Acadia National Pk. is only 1 1/2 miles away and 4 miles to the Village of Bar Harbor. There are 2 convenience store's and a nice Restaurant, The Chart Room, within 1 1/2 miles from the cottage. Also a miniature golf course called Pirates Cove just up the road. If you like to take walks it is a beautiful area to take a nice long walk. The neighbors are very friendly up the road and are more than happy to answer any questions you might have. You will see them when they walk their dogs towards the shore.

Well behaved dog's are welcome. There is a $75 fee per dog Cottage has WIFI.

Perfect location on Mount Desert Island

This was our first trip to Maine. We do all our of research on the internet, and Karen's Cottage was very true to the description on the website. It is in a very convenient location with easy access to all of the sites we wanted to see. Yet, it is in a peaceful, beautiful and relaxing setting. The cottage is very clean, and it was well-stocked with paper products, dish & laundry detergent, etc. Even those small things mean a lot when you are on vacation! I hope we get to come back, and we would certainly stay in Karen's Cottage again.
Owner's Response: I am so glad you enjoyed my cottage. It is very well equiped with everything you could possably need and it is a very cozy cottage. You are only 400 ft. from the shore so you can go searching for sea glass or sea shells or have a picnic. When the tide is coming in over the hot rocks the water is warm enough to go swimming. You are close to Bar Harbor, only 4 miles and just 1 1/2 miles to Acadia National Pk. The cottage has a 12 x 30 ft. deck with very comfortable deck furniture.

Great place to stay

We enjoyed staying at Karen's cottage near the sea! The description provided on Home Away was complete. The property was well maintained and clean. I would recommend this property to a friend and I plan to stay there again myself. It was our first rental of a home instead of staying at a hotel and we were very pleased with the property as was our black lab!

This cottage was clean, private, close to town and the perfect place to stay. We put our kayaks in the ocean which is only 400ft from the cottage. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us Karen.

Great place to stay!

We have been coming to Acadia Seaside Cottage for several years now. It is extremely comfortable and very convenient (just a few minutes drive!) to both the town of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, yet the location is peaceful and quiet. The cottage has a large, private deck where we routinely have our morning coffee while planning our day and often watch the stars at night (truly incredible!). The living room, bathe in small rainbows from a number of sun catchers, is great for relaxing after a long hike -- two lounge chairs to rest your feet and a large soft couch. For days when we would rather eat in, the kitchen is large, inviting and well-equipped. Our dogs, who have always been welcome here, love the short walk down to Frenchman's Bay -- a must every day! Thank you, Karen, for providing us with such a wonderful home away from home!

We had a really great time staying at Karen's Cottage. The location was ideal for seeing the whole island and it was a great retreat after kayaking and biking. It was clean and large and very quiet. I would recommend this cottage to everyone. The ocean view up the road is spectacular and the beach is perfect for looking for sea glass and shells.

Acadia Seaside Cottage is located in a quiet wooded are 4 miles from the village of Bar Harbor and only 1 1/2 miles to Acadia National Pk. and the Atlantic ocean is 400 ft. down the road. It is a very warm and cozy cottage and has everything you could you might need.
