The big name brands tell comparison shoppers the story - watches, liquors, perfumes, cameras, fashions, cosmetics, china, crystal, electronics - from 10 to 30 percent off U.S.
Prices and for some watches as much as 50 percent. Another popular shopping area is the Havensight Mall. Shoppers wander among palms and tropical foliage. The American dollar is used both here and in the British Virgins. Credit cards are usually accepted. ATM's are also available at banks and around the island. Dining: After all the fun you can stop for refreshments at one of our beach bars; or feast on gourmet cuisine offered by any number of the islands' award winning restaurants. Some say the summer mango tastes like apricots spiked with a pinch of pineapple and banana, two fruits that are always in abundance. Native-style restaurants can be counted on to serve West Indian fare. Weather: St. Thomas averages 80 degrees daily with evenings in the 70's, Gentle easterly trade winds keep the humidity low. Average annual rain fall is 50 inches with no particular rainy season, though May, September and October are less dry than winter months.
