Great stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Canta Libre very much. The seclusion was just what we wanted. The owner was very up front about some minor repair issues (actually they weren't as bad as she led us to believe). The only thing we wished we could have fixed was the state of the road. Very rough, you can make it in a regular car, but a 4WD is better. The pool was great. We didn't see any bugs (1st week of Oct). The caretaker was great about getting the couple of items we needed. There isn't much to do unless you like walking on the beach, relaxing by the pool, reading a book, not seeing a neighbor. We were a little disappointed the week we stayed here, when after walking the beach every day, we saw 1 other couple. Eating out is an adventure. Food is expensive!! Although if you don't mind cooking, the fresh catch from Tarpum Bay is great. $1 per fish, $6 per lobster. The fishermen and locals waiting for fish were fun to watch and talk with.
This is a wonderful vacation if you don't need to be catered to and enjoy being alone with the one you love.
