This charming and rustic cabin overlooks the beautiful Suwannee River in North Florida. Magnificent views, secluded, romantic. Features 2 canoes, wood stove (wood is supplied), outdoor fire pit, hammock and tire swing. Dock available for boats. Great fishing and bird watching. Perfect for honeymooners. kayakers, snorkelers, nature lovers. Just 15 minutes from the Ichetucknee State Park entrance for tubing. Many other springs nearby. A-frame shape, with vaulted wood ceilings, wood floors, a large deck with picnic table and grill, and tremendous views of the river.

Canoeing/kayaking from our shore (2 canoes included in the rental). Tire swing and hammock Fishing off the dock - bring your own poles. Swimming/snorkeling and diving in the Suwannee River or in the dozens of natural springs in the area. Inner tubing/snorkeling down the crystal clear Ichetucknee River (15 minute drive). Boating (you can tie your boat up to the dock or tree) Campfire pit, deck with gas grill and picnic table, the real Florida at its best!

Cabin includes the use of two canoes plus pads, paddles and life jackets Bring your boat and tie up to the dock. Nearest boat launch is 5 river miles away. Tubing down the nearby Ichetucknee River Swimming and fishing right off the bank of the Suwannee River Bird watching- Many fascinating and exotic Florida water birds and birds of prey. Hiking in nearby Oleno and Ichetucknee State Parks. Bike riding (rails-to-trails bike path entrance is 10 minutes away in Branford). Antiquing (High Springs,FL, 30 minutes away, very quaint town for lunch and shopping). This is a great place to see the real Florida, away from the theme parks, full of cow pastures, pine forests, live oak stands, fields of wildflowers, pecan groves and lots of wildlife.

The closest town of Branford, FL is a 10 minute drive along dirt roads. Gainesville is the nearest big town - 45 minutes away. Tallahassee is 1 and 1/2 hours away. Jacksonville is 2 hours away. Orlando is 2 and 1/2 hours away. Some local restaurants 10 minutes away (Branford, FL) include: Suwannee Cove Restaurant - All You Can Eat Seafood Buffet on weekends. Located upstream directly on the Suwannee river. You could conceiveably canoe there if you don't mind heading upstream 5 miles... Nell's BarB-Que - Branford, FL Sat. night ALl-U-Can Eat Bar-B-Que. Sandy Point Restaurant - Seafood and steaks(located on the Santa Fe River, five minutes away). Gainesville - 45 minutes away. Home of the University of Florida. The Florida Museum of Natural History, many cultural events, sporting events, etc. and a plethora or restaurants. Catch your own fish! We have a gas grill on the back deck. Catfish, bass and bream are plentiful.

Golf: Worms can be purchased 5 minutes away at 'Hannah's Country Store' on the Santa Fe River.

Suwannee River Cabin

We enjoyed nearby swimming and floating in Ginnie Springs, canoeing on the Suwannee river, riding on the tire swing in back of the cabin, and floating down the Ichetucknee Springs in tubes!
The cabin was quaint, clean, tastefully decorated and had that real Florida feel with artifacts gleaned from the owner's own adventures!The cabin is nice and has comfortable accomodations for 4 persons, or more, as the futon could easily sleep two children and the couch with a 3rd child, adults upstairs. The kitchen is well-stocked, linens/towels plush and very comfortable and were a nice plus. The book selections and DVD's were a good variety of selections. For our technologically inclined children these days, they could bring their portable electronic devices, but best to make their own fun with board games and family time.
We enjoyed nearby Branford for dining out and enjoyed talking with the locals.
If you like the "real" Florida and exploring the beautiful outdoors and nature, then this cabin is your place.
We will most likely return in the future!

Charming get away! Must experience for yourself!

My husband and I booked the cabin for our anniversary. We were so very pleased with the whole experience. From booking the cabin with Robin, she was so wonderful and easy to deal with, to our actual stay there. We arrived a little early and were able to sit on the back balcony and just enjoy the river and the peaceful surroundings. The cabin was very clean and nicely decorated. Everything you could need or want for cooking was there. The canoe's are there for use and we took them out everyday of our stay. The river is so very relaxing. We did not venture out to any other attractions, etc. because we found we did not need to. The cabin had a vast collection of books to read and games to play, as well as movies to watch if you wanted to. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone. My husband and I will definitely go back and take the kids with us. There is something for everyone to enjoy. I can not think of a single thing we did not like about the cabin or our stay. Thanks again to Robin! She is such a pleasure to do business with.

Our 1st Suwannee River Getaway

Words cannot begin to express how much we enjoyed the cabin. It was everything we were expecting and more. From the moment I first spoke to Robin upon booking, I knew we were going to love it. The book made it so much more special just to get a glimpse of Robin and Scott and their restoration journey. It is one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen and to know how much of their blood, sweat and tears it took to make it so, well, as I said, words can’t describe.

We had a wonderful time. Very little boat traffic on Thursday and Friday and we were almost ashamed to speak out loud – there was an utter peacefulness about the place. The canoes were great and we appreciated being able to use them.

This morning, before leaving, we were lucky enough to see a doe,

We are already planning when we can return – One of our best anniversaries in 27 years.

Perfect Getaway

Coming from a very busy city like Miami, it was wonderful to 'hear' so much silence. The cabin was clean, cozy and fully equipped. We loved sitting outside listening to nature! We saw a sturgeon jumping out of the river, we were visited by many squirrels, and we even got to see a deer by the road to the cabin. There are plenty of things to do or choose to do nothing at all. It is the perfect getaway! Robin, thank you for letting us enjoy your cabin. Looking forward to coming back soon.
