The house is decorated in a soft yellow cream throughout and is bright and airy with enormous windows and plush carpeting, tiled entrance and designer flooring in the gourmet cherry wood and stainless steel kitchen.
The great room has a vaulted beamed ceiling with patio door straight out to the spacious redwood, wrap-around deck to view the distant, and often snow-capped, mountains. Pine trees weave their way through the deck and, in different seasons, you can watch the brilliant blue Stellar Jays and tiny Hummingbirds feed. Or enjoy the Mule Deer as you dine either inside or al fresco on the deck.
Go down to the lower deck and take a relaxing dip in the large, and completely private, six to eight person hot tub. This is especially magical when it is snowing or while star gazing as there is no light pollution here! If it is a winter, vacation, enjoy snuggle down in front of the fires (on both levels) and sit down to enjoy a good read or a movie from our selection.
We are sure you will have a wonderfully peaceful (or busy if you so wish!) vacation in our fully-furnished and well-equipped home with great quality mattresses, plenty of space and lots of conveniences including satellite television, 42-in plasma HDTV, DVD, VCR, etc. Everything you could need has been provided, including a further family area for lounging, games. (a variety of board games provided together with table and chairs) The laundry room is on the main level. There is a hot tub, two decks with patio dining furniture and barbecue, gas heating and electric hot water.
Also, there is a playhouse in the private woods suitable for children; it has its own deck and 'furniture' and is about 200 ft away from main house (hidden). A snow plow is on-site and snow-plowing service is provided for more than a few inches.
Woodland Park - “City Above the Clouds” - is only a 10-minute, rural drive away through meadowland, past Pikes Peak forest hiking trails and the nearby golf course. Woodland Park offers many amenities including restaurants, lots of stores and a quaint, old-fashioned main street complete with antique and cowboy clothing stores. It also boasts up-to-the-minute grocery stores, movie rentals, fast food outlets, gift shops, hairdressers, Movie Theater, etc. There is plenty to do and see.
Colorado Springs and 'Old Colorado City' are only a 40-minute drive, and historical Manitou Springs is about 30 minutes, as is the entrance to Pikes Peak, Cave of The Winds, and The Cliff Dwellings. A must-see is the truly fabulous Garden of The Gods or hike around Florissants Petrified Forest, also about 40 minutes away. Denver is an hour and a half away as is the Breckenridge ski area.
