Flamingo Point USVI is one of the largest (1200 sq ft) homes for rent on Water Island. A private home perched on the edge of a 50' bluff over-looking the Caribbean and St Thomas; 'split' floor plan incl. Great Room (living, updated kitchen, and dining),3 of the bed rooms open onto a large covered porch (922 sq ft) with 225 degree panoramic views and a gentle breeze. The view is spectacular, not only can you see and hear the ocean breaking on the rocks below the house but also a stunning view of St. Thomas to the N, ocean sunsets to the W and ocean views to the S. The house is located on a 1 acre lot at the end of a road, on the S W tip of the Island . There is no drive by traffic & the house can not be seen from the road. The front of the house opens onto a large uncovered deck . One of the best uncrowded beaches you will find anywhere is ~1/2 mile from the house. The Island is 7 minutes by ferry to St Thomas, close enough to enjoy all of the amenities of other islands.

  • Each bathroom has window with privacy glass. The home is so secluded though that you likely will want to open the window and look out over the Caribbean or St. Thomas. Flamingo Point Estate water source is Mother Nature. When it rains, water flows into the cisterns. You will feel the difference in the softness of rain water on your skin and hair after showering.

Fantastic home -- great views!

My family (2 adults, 3 teenagers) just returned from a two week stay in Flamingo Point Estate. The house is exactly as advertised. What you will notice first about the house is the incredible views of the Caribbean from the deck. While sitting on the deck you have all the privacy in the world (you see other houses in the distance) and feel like the ocean is yours. It's a great way to spend the first and last few hours of each day, listening to the waves crash, watching the cruise ships come and go, and watch the birds and other wild life. Very peaceful!

Beyond the deck, the rest of the house worked out great for our family. Each of our three teenagers got their own bedroom. They were ecstatic to have a king size bed to go with it! The beds are very comfortable. We slept with windows and screen doors open every night. The breezes were perfect. And the screens keep out the handful of mosquitos and insects, so they weren't a problem at all.

The kitchen is beautifully equipped; we lacked for nothing. We fixed all of our breakfasts and most of our dinners and ate outside every night but one. Dinners were predominantly grilled on the nice stainless 5 burner grill.

The only thing to keep in mind is that food has to bought in St. Thomas and brought over on the ferry. Not a problem, just something you have to plan for. We did most of our grocery shopping at Gourmet Gallery because it was handy and it was easy to keep the cold items cold while waiting for the ferry. The ferry is very reliable. Leaves on time, arrives on time. You will need to plan around the scheduled ferry times. We did need to make one unscheduled ferry run because we were late coming back from the British Virgin Islands and missed the last ferry of the day. That cost us about double, but all in all it was worth it.

If you're thinking about renting this house -- do it! The owners are great. They take great care of their house. You'll have a great time on Water Island.
