Area: Mashpee is midway between Falmouth and Hyannis, not far from Sandwich, on the Upper Cape. An hour's drive takes you to Provincetown, an hour and a half to Boston or Providence. Almost any activity you might wish for your holiday is within easy access. A favorite activity is just sitting on the deck to enjoy the lake views while you sip your coffee in the morning.
When we remodeled the kitchen we thought about the extended families (including our own) who enjoy staying and cooking at Tree House. The island with vegetable prep sink and stools for chatting with the cook, new stainless appliances, large dining tables both indoors and out--all make it easy to center your social life around meals. The den, living room, and family room on different floors also seem to work well for the family arrangements of our guests, so you can watch different movies at the same time. Of course there are plenty of places to eat out or watch the latest movies on the big screen if that fits your wishes. And you'll find numerous places to take walks, enjoy the beach, go to the islands for the day, browse for antiques.
