Deposits are non-refundable within 45 days of your stay. Pets require an additional deposit of $100.00. Plus an additional $15.00 to the rental fee. All pets must be pre approved by owners. Most places charge $1,500.00 or more per month in the winter so act soon to take advantage of this great deal!

Felt at home in minutes!

We spent a wonderful week at this charming and spacious cottage. The place felt like our home away from home very shortly. Everything we needed was right there. It's very clean and the beach is large, sandy and comes equipped with chairs, rowboat, lifejackets and sandtoys. What more could we want? The lake is quiet and peaceful and it shallow enough for our 2 year old to feel completely comfortable in her swimvest (mom and dad, too!). I walked around the lake one time because I had seen others doing it. It's a nice and somewhat challenging walk as you are walking on beachsand for much of the time. It took me about 45 min. and was a nice way to see the lake. We walked the short distance to the general store for ice cream cones and took the drive to both Grayling (fantastic bakery!) and Gaylord (see "The Call of the Wild", kids and adults will love it!). We will be marking this spot on our favorite list for the future :)

Relaxing Paradise

We rented the cottage in the middle of Autumn. The leaves were changing and the lake was extremely quiet. We had the beach to ourselves for the entire weekend. We couldn't have chosen a more relaxing location! The deck had a great view of the beach below. The cabin had everything that we needed for the entire weekend, including charcoal for the grill and a shed filled with beach equipment. We were pleasantly suprised to find that the cabin had its own row boat and really enjoyed going out on the lake.

Beautiful, quiet place

They have everything you need to make this a fabulous stay, down to sand toys for the kids, and skewers for the marshmallows! The cabin is clean and well maintained. My kids loved the bunks. The lake is gorgeous, quiet, and sandy and you can wade out forever. We took our two dogs and there was plenty of room for two large crates in the cabin. Less than a quarter mile from a fabulous mountain biking trail. Beautiful and quiet road rides. We'll be back!

We had a very nice time staying on Starvation Lake. There is plenty of room inside the cabin and the beach is beautiful. A nice quiet & peaceful lake. The cabin is centrally located and you are in driving distance of Traverse City & Mackinaw.

This place is awesome - a true find in the heart of ORV territory! Five buddies & myself rented it for the weekend to do some serious trail riding on the Kalkaska & Frederic loops. This cottage was perfect & we definitely felt at home. We could ride right from the cottage to the trail loop. All the guys were like, "How did you find THIS place!" They all loved it & I wouldn't doubt that we'll return again soon. In fact, one of the guys asked for the number so he could take his family there for the weekend. Sweet new addition in the deck out back leading down to the lake. Definite two thumps up!
