The SunGrazer is a 3,200 sq ft, 6 bedroom, 4 full bath mountain home that sleeps up to 16. Located in the Massanutten Four Seasons Resort in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, the house features 2 forty foot decks with ski slope, stream, and golf course views, 9 ft cathedral ceilings, 2 family rooms, theater room with 50'HDTV, 2 fireplaces, foosball and casino game table, and a garage and paved driveway. Everything is provided at our home; all you need to do is show up with personal toiletries. Smoking is allowed on decks. We cater to families (preferred) and adult-led groups that will respect our home, the privacy of our neighbors, our house rules and the rules of the Massanutten Property Owners Association. The Appalachian trail is within walking distance and the Skyline drive is just minutes by car. There are many Civil War sites and universities nearby. The largest all-season Water Park on the East Coast just opened at the base of the mountain -- open to the public.

The Sungrazer is about 15 minutes from Harrisonburg and 15 minutes from Elkton, VA. It is also near the entrance to Skyline Drive and minutes from many of Virginia's spectacular caves and Civil War cites. Monticello (Jefferson's home) is only 30 minutes by car.

  • Personal Checks only. Check In: 2 p.m./Check Out: 10 a.m.
    Required Stay: 2night minimum- 3 nights on holiday weekends
    Cancellation Policy: A sixty (60) day notice is required for cancellations. Cancellations that are made more than sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date will incur no penalty. Cancellations or changes that result in a shortened stay, that are made within sixty (60) days of the arrival date, forfeit the full advance payment and damage/reservation deposit. Cancellations for late reservations (under 60 days) forfeit any funds received. Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit.
    Deposits: A damage/reservation deposit of $395 is required. This must be received within seven (7) days of booking the reservation. The deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The deposit is NOT applied toward rent; however, it is fully refundable
  • within fourteen (14) days of departure provided the terms of our contract and rules are met. An advance payment equal to 50% of the rental rate is required 60 days before arrival. The advance payment will be applied toward the rent. Please make payments in the form of a personal checks. The advance payment is not a damage deposit. The BALANCE OF RENT is due fourteen (14) days before your arrival or earlier. In the event of late reservations (under 60 days), full payment is due fourteen (14) days prior to arrival.
    Other Policies: Please take your shoes off! No smoking in our home. No pets under any circumstances.
    We offer a 10% discount for active duty military personnel and 10% discount for repeat renters.

Notes: During summer months you have access to the Property Owner's Pool at the top of the mountain about 5 minutes from our home. Cost is $5/person/day with kids 5 and under free. Make sure the pool pass stays in our home after you leave.

Our home was completed in December 2004. : Our home was completed in December 2004. When we're not using it for our own family gatherings, we rent to others who share our values, will respect our home and our neighbors' privacy, our house rules and the rules of the Massanutten Property Owners Association. Massanutten is a four-season resort complex that offers something for all, young or old, adventuresome or sedate, but we get no perks from the Resort as a private resident within their gated community. We've had renters from around the States and from Canada, and some have come three times. You won't be disappointed. Our home is a private residence within the gated Massanutten Resort complex and as such we receive no special perks or benefits from the Resort. Whatever is open to the public is available to you.

We're a short 5-minute drive from the slopes: We're a short 5-minute drive from the slopes, perhaps 7 minutes to the new $30M Water Park at the base of Massanutten Mountain, and similar short hops to the Go-Kart Track, the miniature gold course, or either of the two 18-hole championship golf courses at Massanutten. As private owners, we don't get any discounts on the Resort activities, but they are available just as they are to the general public. We ask that you bring extra beach towels if you plan to use the Water Park as we don't want our towels taken from our home. Everything is provided in our home; all you need to bring are your personal toiletries, some food and some extra towels if you plan to swim. Our family room in the lower level includes a casino game table and a foosball table. The separate 'kids room' is only for the real young set. In the summer you can use our Property Owner's pool pass: $5/day/person 5 and under free. The Property Owners pool is at the top of the mountain about 5 minutes from our home.

We have stayed here twice and always recall our fond memories of our weekends at this house! The family is great to work with and we definitely plan on going back for more visits! Highly recommend this house!!
