Welcome to a tropical Hawaii vacation rental, an easy 5 min. walk to the beach, shopping and restaurants. **Enjoy the feeling of the Hawaii with the Gorgeous Koolau Mountain views from your suite on the 2nd floor, one of the highlights visitors enjoy most (the lanai may be shared with 1 other couple). **Great for a max. of 2 quiet, laid back, nonsmoking people. $15/night for an extra person. This is not a party house. **Comfortable Cal-King bed, futon couch, walk-in closet. Full bath has a shower/tub, towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, blow dryer and iron. **The kitchenette has a refrigerator, microwave, hotplate, coffee maker, rice cooker, and toaster. Dinnerware, glasses, cups, utensils, pots and pans provided. **Free parking, coin washer/dryer on prem. **Swim in the beautiful blue and turquoise waters at Kailua Beach or sunbath, even windsurf anywhere on/off 3 miles of soft white sand. What a great experience!

It was everything we expected for a "Homeaway!" Private, quiet, close to everything we wanted to do. Most mornings I walked five minutes to the beach for sunrise--I took a hundred or more photos over the week--followed by coffee and a yogurt bowl at Kalapawai Market.

Downtown Kailua is just a few blocks the other direction with all types of restaurants, grocery stores, boutiques and services.

The unit was clean and well-stocked with everything we needed.

Off-street parking is definitely a bonus.

This is our third trip to Kailua, but the first where we have had to find our own accommodations. We usually stay with our daughter.

The weather this trip was particularly hot and humid, but the windows, fans and air-conditioning helped keep this unit comfortable.

The lanai was a great place to relax and enjoy the mountain view.

If you want a quiet location away from the non-stop activity in Waikiki, this is definitely the place to consider.

We will be back again!

Honeymoon - relaxing stay nice location

My husband and I stayed here when we eloped in April and loved it. There are two rentals on the second floor, and although I believe a nice family with children was also staying there, we had great privacy. The moutain view out on the lanai was beautiful. We are adventurers and I enjoy running. There is a great biking/running path that runs along the beach, which I enjoyed every morning. The beach is a short distance away and the waters are calm. Kailua has some tasty places to eat - perfect after a day of hiking, snorkling, etc. We also found a nice grocery store and ate in a few nights using the microwave - no stove - but who wants one on a vacation? Not too far from major highways, easy to get on the road for daily adventures. Also, the hosts were very accomodating, gave us assistance if we needed it but we really felt like we were alone in our own little retreat. The birds singing in the morning and the rain patter at night was very romantic. We will definitely be back!

Owner's Response: Mahalo (Many thanks). We are happy to share our home with such wonderful, joyful people as we like to keep our lives laidback, happy and mellow. Although it is a part of our home, you have your privacy. Everyone truly enjoys the wonderful Koolau mountain view from the lanai which makes you feel you are truly in paradise. One renter told us, "it's the closest thing to heaven without dying". We have a great central location close to the beach in one direction and shops, supermarket and restaurants in the other direction...you may even walk the short distances. Besides beach activities, there are basketball courts, tennis courts and an olympic size pool a few blocks away. There is a local tennis group you can mix in and play doubles Mon.-Fri. from 7-9:30am. On Thursdays, from 9-10, there is a fun, local Farmer's Market where you can buy fruits, vegetables, fish, coconuts, papaya, mangoes, guavas, etc. whatever is in season. There is so much to see and do on the island of Oahu, and this is a great home base to do it from.

The owners of this "beautiful" vacation rental were warm with Aloha and saw that all our accommodations were met. Everything was within walking distance for shopping, parks and most important, "Beautiful Kailua Beach".

This area was my home for 10years of my life so my expectations are high. This met all of them! Clean, beautiful, and for us close to the friends and family we came to be near!

We sat on the lanai and admired the mountains

everyday. We walked to the beach everyday, we even saw some sea turtles. It's a great relaxing place. This property was very, very clean and well maintained. The cal king bed was perfect for my hubby who's 6'4". There's a mini kitchenette and full refrig to keep all our goodies and snacks. We were close to everything, beach, shops, ice cream-Cold Stone creamery-yummy, supermarkets, restaurants. They opened a new wine restaurant, Formaggio's, 3 blocks away. Last year, after a late night, the only place to eat was Zippy's (about 6 blocks away) but now there's Formaggio's with excellent food and wine, about a 4star place. We loved being in Kailua, away from the hustle of the big city. It was laid back and relaxing, altho we did go into Waikiki for 1 night for fun. But the sand at Kailua was much much nicer, soft, clean and white. We even borrowed the bikes 1 day and biked around Kawainui swamp nearby. It's a bird and nature preserve and saw ducks, turtles and birds. There some really nice art and a stained glass shop in town where we bought artsy souvenirs. It is near Luana Hills golf course which was like golfing at Juraissic Park (without the dinosaurs)--they even have a fancy Sunday brunch there which was excellent.
We've stayed at places where it's nice and we feel like Hawaii when we get into Kailua town/beach, but at this rental, we feel like Hawaii all the time because of the beautiful mountain view. It was just great.

Nicer than pictures, relaxing mountain view

The description was accurate, but the place was very nice, nicer than the pictures. It was very clean, like new and well maintained. The owner works so was not around but always available quickly by phone. The large, long lanai with mountain view was shared by just 1 other room, so still very private. Comfortable spacious cal king bed, linens, beach towels, dishes, beach chairs, bikes and close walk to the beach to lay back and relax was very nice. The owner said both had cal kings and a futon couch. Shopping, great restaurants right in Kailua.Beach side community sort of like Monterey but with much more beautiful blues in the ocean waters. Saw some turtles.
