Welcome to Central House on Mount Desert Island, Maine. We are centrally located in Southwest Harbor on the Clark Point road in a 1894 house completely remodeled and updated. Five minutes away is Acadia National Park and only 15 miles across MDI from Bar Harbor, Me. Three bedrooms have queen beds, one is furnished with twin beds, all have ceiling fans and built in desks. A private tiled bathroom with large custom showers (with 3 shower heads) are part of each bedroom, and one also has a whirlpool tub. Wireless internet, cable TV, a short walk to town with excellent restaurants, unique shops, and the free Island Explorer to all island destinations.

fantastic place for a family reunion or just get away but not too far. the bed rooms were HUGE and baths to match. the 3rd floor apt was wonderful as a second kitchen/eating area or just allow for privacy and relaxation. house had all the amenities that any person or family would need. the owners have tried to think of every detail that anyone would want. the driveway was large and allowed the kids to play without worrying about traffic. lobster pound 1/2 mile down the road, close to town for shopping. i would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing get away but with TONS of stuff to do within minutes; including the Island Explorer bus to get you over to Bar Harbor and Park Loop Rd. Highly recommended.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Families with Young Children
