Thank you for a great stay. The location was perfect for touring around D.C. and we enjoyed having the additional space for the kids.

Absolutely Perfect!

Desert Dweller Too Phoenix, AZ
Review Submitted: November 21, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
I spent 2 weeks here and I just loved this place! I will definitely be staying here again: close to the Metro, shopping, and dining! Anything you want is just RIGHT THERE! Of course you'll go to see the DC sights, but if you're renting a condo, you also want to be comfortable and have convenience. You'll find that here, no question.

You are two short and beautiful blocks away from every kind of restaurant you could ever want, all good (some EXTREMELY good): Mediterranean, Thai, Mexican, Belgian (oh, you MUST try The Belga Cafe!), Cajun, Italian, Greek, and, of course, American. On that same block you can also find fast foods like Subway and Popeye's Chicken, as well as a 7-Eleven.

Go one block North and find yourself at Eastern Market, a century-old marketplace that houses a fresh meats, produce, bakery, and dairy (I bought my butter there in paper-wrapped blocks, not pre-packaged sticks). On the weekends, farmers back their trucks up with fresh produce to sell, and a flea market sets up with hand-made goods.

Go about 50 feet east and you'll have a dry cleaners; you won't even have to leave your block. Go another 50 feet and find Frager's Hardware, where you can get anything you need: I found there a grocery cart, blender, mixing bowls, whisk, and great service! Right next door to Frager's is a new restaurant, Dulce, which was just fantastic Spanish tapas-influenced dining. Another 3 blocks east you have two large supermarkets: Harris Teeter and Safeway.

The property is VERY comfortable, the queen mattresses felt new, and the kitchen was modern with lots of counterspace. The back yard is delightful to sit in while enjoying the weather and watching the squirrels :-) The bathroom is nicely sized, the plumbing great, and the washer/dryer in there works great and is convenient and stored out of the way. Plenty of fresh linens, towels, blankets, and comforters to feel very cozy.

Finally, the management was quite helpful and responsive when I had questions, and the wireless Internet connection, telephone, and cable all worked great.

I HIGHLY recommend this rental! Thanks again, Rob and Chris :-)

Close to the Excitement Without the Craziness

Our recent trip to DC was made all the better by our stay at this beautiful row house. An easy walk from the Eastern Market Metro stop made access to the Mall and Museums as easy as could be. In fact, walking to the sites was not entriely out of the picture either as we inadvertantly found out our first day. We never made it to the grocery, which was not far, but could have made a holiday of just visiting all the yummy local eating establishments in the neighborhood. The Eastern Market was amazing and the neighborhood trendy and exciting.
The unit itself was perfect for my husband and I with plenty of room to spare. The kitchen was modern with all the amenties one could wish for. And after a long day of hiking around the city, the beds made for a comfortable and restful way to recharge. There were plenty of cable channels on the TV for relaxing, but truth be told we were usually too exhausted at the end of our day to watch much tv. The furnishings are fairly basic, but not uncomfortable or worn. LIke I said, this unit suited us perfectly and I would gladly give it two thumbs up

Historic Row House

Review Submitted: September 29, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
we enjoyed our stay, the only complaint we has was the mattress on the bed need's to be replaced. short walk to metro 2 blocks metro is easy to use learned the system in one day. No family restaurants in the area or anywhere else for that matter local pubs have very good food so unless you don't mind spending a lot of money on food to eat out . Nice kitchen to cook your own meals grocery store short walk the opposite way from the metro. They do not believe in breakfast in D.C. so you best eat in.My family did not like the fact that they couldn't go out for bacon and eggs. It is a beautiful city would go back . And yes would stay in this Row House.Plan on a lot of walking, take good shoes. We opted for sight seeing bus on 3 day,it was great and cut down on some of the walking.we are seniors so don't have the stamina of the younger people. Our son and grandson walked our legs off. we didn't get a car until the last 2 days of our 9 day stay so we could drive out to Mt. Vernon. There was a water problem with the upstairs unit and a plumber was called and needed into our unit that was no problem for us as he had a key.I would suggest that the cob webs outside be removed my son did this with the hose. I highly recommed this property.I liked the luxury of having a washer and dryer, would not have this in a hotel.
Owner's Response: Thanks for your stay and positive feedback. Thanks also for letting us know about the mattress, we will replace it in the next few days. The temporary plumbing issue turned out not to be related to any problem in the unit, but air got in the line because the City was doing work on the water main in the street. It was resolved within 24-hours of letting us know. There are about 20 restaurants within a few block walk of the restaurant, several are family restaurants that do serve bacon & eggs... we are particularly fond of Bread & Chocolate (666 Pennsylvania Ave). We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you'll return. For anyone that has specific questions like this guest about dining options or complaints like the bed, we are only a cell phone call away and are very responsive.

A perfect place to stay

Review Submitted: April 30, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
The downstairs unit was well-appointed and met our needs. We flew into Regan, and took the Metro to the Eastern Market station. We had never ridden a subway before, it was so easy! Just bring comfortable shoes, even the kids (12 & 14 yrs) said their feet hurt, probably because you are standing on marble & concrete floors and walking all the time. If you've been to Disney, it's much easier on your feet than DC, believe it or not! You really don't need a car, and as someone else mentioned, the "garage" is quite small.

When we needed groceries, we would get off on the next stop past Eastern Market (Potomoc, I think), do our shopping at the absolutely fabulous Harris Teeter and walk the 2 or 3 blocks back to the flat. The store entrance is on the other side of Pennsylvania, just make sure you walk back Pennsylvania, or you will walk an extra few blocks. When asked for a savings card, we told them we were visiting, and every cashier gave us the discount. :-) After the first day, we decided to pack our lunches and carry them in a backpack since it was over $45 for lunch for the four of us, and we only purchased 2 beverages!

We had a great time, and it was so nice to come back and be able to stretch out in the flat, definitely tons better than being cramped in a hotel room. We would stay here again if we came to DC.
