Photos and Description of this Sesimbra holiday house Since years Meco has the 'Blue Flag 2007' for best water Quality

The house is situated between the small village of Meco and the Atlantic about 500 m from the beach. The village lives mostly from the local tourists, there are no hotels and when the season is over, people like to visit Meco because of the good restaurants and to have a walk on the beach. The beach of Meco got famous in the 70ies as one of the first nudist beaches, today everybody does as he likes and Meco was “discovered” by the Lisbon high-society and artists. During the summer-season there is a quite busy night life in the village but as the house is not in the center of the village you want notice much. You can buy fresh vegetables from our farmer next to the house and some local women make fresh bread over the open fire. In the village you have everything you need, pharmacy, bank, little shops as well as fresh fish 6 days a week. If you do not feel like cooking, order some fine dishes from the next restaurant and enjoy it on our big terrace the only one with a fantastic view.

Meco is situated in the middle of a natural park called “Serra da Arrabita”. The coast is often wild and difficult to explore but the next sand-beach to our house (500 m) is about 5 km long. Lisbon is a very busy city with a lot of bars and restaurants and only 30 km away from our house. Once you put down your luggage you feel miles away from any civilization. Our place is ideal to combine relaxing holidays with a lot of trips to the most important places around Lisbon, like Sintra (summer residence of the former Kings of Portugal), Estoril and Cascais with the Casino. Sesimbra is around the corner and you can enjoy a nice ride through the natural park of the Serra da Arrabita. From Setubal you can use a car-ferry to the peninsula of Troja where you can play a round of golf, go swimming or go on for a trip to the deserted area of the Alentejo with the many beaches in between. You can play golf at about 10 different courses all around 15 to 50 km from our place.

  • There is no additional fee for cleaning. We add a bound of € 200,-- which is transferred back to your account after leaving the house without damage. If you make a fix reservation we ask 20% down payment, the rest including the bound is due 6 weeks before your holidays. If you have to cancel your holidays we keep the down payment unless we can rent the property again, than we will pay back the down payment. We accept only banktransfer
  • A price discount is given if there are only two people occupying the house, if you stay longer or if you would like to occupy the house during the winter season.
  • Exchange of houses: As we love to travel as well, we are also interested in changing houses with other owners.

A place for total relaxation within nature....

This beautiful holiday complex is situated in a small village called Meco, where one can notice the contrast between white small typical houses and nature. Within five minutes drive there is the beach with white sand and the possibilty to go for long walks. I spent a week with my children in this house and was very happy. The complex has a big garden with swimming pool, very safe and the house itself has its own garden which is very comfortable to sit with a bit of privacy or make barbecues. This particular house is situated on angle therefore no neighbours directly and facing the nature. I would say the best positioned!! Meco is 'the place' of the Alentejo, there are some good sorrounding restaurants to try out tasty dishes from the region. Well done!

Nice house with all you need. 2 bathrooms (2 toilets and 2 showers) makes life easy. Spacy bedrooms. Kitchen opens to the inner patio...nice if you want to eat outside, grill etc. Nearby fields are nice to watch to be taken care of.
Pool is awesome to have those moments you dont feel like walking to the beach....which is not far away either. Beach is nice and you can still get your own space eg. its not far too crowded. The village gives good opportunity for nice food, gourmet even.
Everything went really smooth with the owners. Thank you!
And the Portuguese sun never lets you down ;+ )
I have been travelling quite a bit in Portugal and this is for sure one of the nicest parts.

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus mit Nähe zum Strand!!

Dieses Ferienhaus in Meco (ca. 45 min südlich von Lissabon) ist nicht weit von einem der schönsten Strände Portugals entfernt. Das Haus ist komplett eingerichtet und hat drei Schlafzimmer. Man kann sich entweder selbst versorgen (die Küche ist komplett eingerichtet - sogar mit Geschirrspüler) oder man geht in dem kleinen Ort Meco, wo zahlreiche Restaurants sind ,gut essen.

Im Garten des Ferienhauses ist ein schöner Pool den man sich mit den vier anderen Reihenhäuser teilt. Zum Strand kann man entweder zu Fuß gehen oder man fährt einfach mit dem Auto zu den verschiedenen Plätzen.

Ich kann dieses Haus nur empfehlen. Es war sehr sauber und wir haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt. Würde sicher wieder dort hinfahren!

Ideales Ferienhaus für Familien

Das Ferienhaus liegt etwas ausserhalb, zwischen dem Dörfchen und dem Strand.
Es ist sehr praktisch, sauber und sehr grosszügig eingerichtet. Für einen Urlaub fehlt es absolut an nichts und die Kaffeemaschine ist für Kaffeeliebhaber das i-Tüpfelchen (Die Kapseln unbedingt mitnehmen, ansonsten ein Gang ins Zentrum von Lissabon unumgänglich wird).

Die gepflegte Gartenanlage mit dem schönen Pool und den Liegestühlen lädt zum Verweilen ein. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wieder nach Meco in die Ferien. Auch im Juli sind die Strände überhaupt nicht überlaufen und man findet je nach Vorzug einsame Plätzchen genauso wie etwas belebtere Abschnitte. Wir würden jederzeit unsere Ferien wieder in Meco verbringen.

Wunderschön, kommen gerne wieder

Schon der persönliche Kontakt im Vorfeld der Buchung war sehr angenehm. Die Beschreibung für die nicht ganz einfache Anfahrt vom Flughafen funktionierte tadellos. Auch ganz angenehm das Begrüßungsgeschenk im Haus für den ersten Abend bzw. das erste Frühstück.
Die Lage des Hauses ist wunderbar ruhig (wenn nicht gerade in der Nachbarschaft ein Haus gebaut wird). Die Ausstattung lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig. In der Vorsaison gestaltet sich allerdings die Gaststättensuche in unmittelbarer Nähe (also zu Fuß) eher schwierig (man kann ja auch selber kochen). Der Strand war menschenleer und zu Fuß in weniger als 10 Minuten erreichbar. Auch die Hauptstadt Lissabon erreicht man mit dem Auto in 30-45 Minuten (wenn kein Stau ist). Eine wunderschöne Stadt!!! Wir kommen gerne wieder in dieses Haus zurück und bedanken uns ganz herzlich für den wunderschönen Urlaub.
