There are 600 citizens living in Brist. In earlier times, before tourism reached this coast, they were small and poor farmers, working hard on their fields behind the top of the mountain off Biokovo. The other went fishing and worked in olive fields and orchards around the village. After the 'Magistrale' was built at the beginning of the sixties, tourists came and live was getting easier. There are many coffee bars on the promenade of Gradac and we do recommend the fish restaurant ‘Val’ with Pero who is preparing fresh fish and sea fruits but also very good fast food from the barbeque.
