In the southern Piemont, surrounded by vineyards and hazelnut plantations we rent a freestanding vacation house for up to 4 persons and in the close by farmhouse a vacation apartment with 3 bedrooms and a very large kitchen/dining room for up to 6 persons. These houses are situated at the edge of a hill from where you have a magnificent view over the many hills of the Langhe area and across the plain to the Alps. The stone houses which have been built many hundred years ago have recently been renovated by us and we have kept as many of the old structures as we could. Therefore, it is a very rustic and romantic place where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the country side. There is a large, wild garden, a covered terrace with a balcony, and many places around the houses and in the garden with tables and garden chairs, as well as hammocks under the hazelnut trees.

Two bedrooms and a bathroom are located on the upper floor behind an arcade. From here you have a very nice view over the hills. The arcade is a beautiful place to sit, read or have your meals. The third bedroom is adjacent to the other two but has its own staircase and balcony. This room is particularly charming as it is very tall with half of the room horizontally divided. In the lower part is the bathroom and on the upper part is the sleeping area. The kitchen/dining room is on the ground floor. This room is very large and can accommodate at least 10 persons. The kitchen is very comfortable with a 5 flam gas stove, a large refrigerator and all the necessary kitchen equipment. All the rooms and the kitchen/dining room are connected to a central heating system. In addition you have the opportunity to heat yourself with wood as we have put very efficient stoves in each room.

Our vacation place is situated about half a mile away from the little village Lovera which consists of a few old houses around a church and a charming restaurant. 2 miles further south on top of a hill you find the larger village Murazzano where you can do your daily shopping, read the newspaper in one of the 2 bars or visit the impressing medieval tower. 6 miles north is the charming little town Dogliani with many shops and a large weekly market. The famous vineyards of Barolo are only about half an hour from here. If you like mountain hiking you can reach the Alps in 1 - 1.5 hours. To reach the Ligurian coast in the south where you can find many nice villages and beaches takes you about one hour drive You can reach us on the freeway from Torino (exit Carru) or Milano (exit Asti est). We send our guests a detailed description of the way to our place.

Die Fewo ist korrekt beschrieben und bietet neben zwei interessant gestalteten Schlafzimmern eine sehr große, gut ausgestattete Wohnküche, in der sich das Leben abspielte. Mit dem Vermieter ergab sich schnell ein sehr informativer und freundlicher Kontakt. Auch unsere Hunde fanden genug Auslauf.

Die Wohnung liegt in einem kleinen "Borgo" auf einem Hügelkamm ca. 3 km von Murazzano (nächste Einkaufsmöglichkeit) entfernt. Sie besteht aus einer großen, gut und geschmackvoll ausgestatteten Wohnküche mit zusätzlichen überdachten Essplatz im Freien sowie einem Bad und 2 geräumigen Schlafzimmern im OG (über eine aussenliegende Steintreppe und eine Galerie zu erreichen). Ein weiteres Zimmer (Fienilezimmer/Maisonette mit zusätzlichem kleinen Wohnbereich und Duschbad) wurde von uns dazugemietet. Alle Zimmer sind mit Holzöfen ausgestattet, eine Zentralheizung ist installiert, war aber Ende September (noch) nicht im Betrieb.
Die Wohnung umschließt mit einem weiteren Gebäudeteil und einem seperaten Steinhaus U-förmig einen begrünten Innenhof, Ausrichtung Süden.
Die Umgebung ist geprägt von Feldern, Haselnußhainen, Wäldern und einigen Weinbergen (Dolcetto-Gebiet). Mit etwas Glück kann man Wildschweine, Hasen, Fasane und andere Wildtiere in unmittelbarer Nähe des Hauses beobachten.
Die ganze Anlage ist geschmackvoll und in guter Qualität renoviert und teilweise wiederaufgebaut worden. Im angebauten Gebäudeflügel befinden sich noch 2 Wohnungen im Rohbau, weitere Bauarbeiten finden jedoch nur in "vermietfreien" Zeiten statt. Am oberen Teil des Borgos wird z. Zt. ein Haus wiedererrichtet, wir waren davon jedoch zu keiner Zeit belästigt.
Der Vermieter wohnt in der Anlage und ist fast immer ansprechbar, hat auch gute Restauranttips.
Man muß hier unbedingt motorisiert und bereit sein, zum Brötchenholen 7 Minuten und zum Großeinkauf nach Dogliani 20 Minuten zu fahren. Auch sind die bekannteren Orte der Langhe mindestens 30 Minuten Autofahrt entfernt. Andererseits gibt es hier nette, kleine, eher unbekannte Orte zu entdecken und schöne Spaziergänge oder Radtouren (eher sportlich) zu machen.
