True to the original, this blacksmith´s house offers a cosy and romantic atmosphere. You are our only guest. In our vacation-house 'Old Blacksmith´s' you stay in a 43 m² 'smith´s room' with open fireplace, a complete kitchen, a complete non-smoker holiday flat in the upper floor. In the yard, there is plenty of room to sit and to play (swings, playhouse) as well as a place to grill. It is ideal for families with 2-4 people. It is located idyllically in the middle of village in nature and along a small river - even though it´s only 7 kilometres away from the centre of the Thuringian capital, Erfurt. Also, Weimar is easily reached on the B7 in about 15 minutes. There are a lot of daytrips: the historical old town of Erfurt and Weimar and their cultural offerings ('Luther', 'Goethe', 'Schiller'...),fair, concerts, sport: skating ring, swimming pools, saunas, horseback riding; Erfurt garden show, zoo. Hiking trails, castles, open air museum, water park, cycling and walking in area.

Buessleben is a village on the outskirts of the attractive Thuringian capital of Erfurt with many cultural and historical atmosphere. It is only 7 km away, or 10 minutes by car, to the middle of the city. It is also close to the B7, which allows a direct connection to the cultural town of Weimar (about 15 minutes by car, 18 km away). In Buessleben there is the Petri Church with the oldest 'Sterzing Organ' in Thuringian and organ concerts, in nature you can walk along the little river 'Petrbach' through the village and to different destinations. For the children there are two playgrounds and for shopping is a supermarket about 400 m from the vacation house. In the next village there is a horseback riding hall. In the village and the area there are different restaurants. For daytrips you can go one of many castles, the hiking trails, open air museum or water park and thermal in the beautiful countryside. On the fairground of Erfurt there is a great offer of exhibitions or concerts

My 4-night stay here came near the end of a 3-week holiday. This charming cottage was the perfect escape from hotels and a welcome change of pace. It is a little world all by itself, and the pleasure is in just being there.The cottage itself is so interesting but also highly comfortable and offers all the modern conveniences. Birgit, the owner, has thought of everything and is extremely gracious. My German is abysmal so I was grateful for her English skills and advice about how to navigate Erfurt. I highly recommend this place!

***'Die Schmiede ist wirklich ein Gedicht. Ich habe ewig nicht mehr so tolle Erdbeermarmelade gegessen', schrieb Peter Klodt aus München. ***'Es war wieder sehr schön bei Ihnen und auch das Frühstück war lecker', schrieb Andreas Günther aus Erfurt. *** Wir hatten eine sehr angenehme Woche in der 'Alten Schmiede'. Wenn Sie einen tollen Urlaub in einer interessanten Gegend verbringen wollen, dann ist die 'Alte Schmiede' genau die richtige Adresse. Erfurt, Weimar und der Thüringer Wald sind ganz in der Nähe, aber auch Bad Frankenhausen und das Kyffhäuser Gebirge sind nicht zu weit entfernt. Auch unsere Tochter (2,5 Jahre alt) hat sich wegen der Schaukel im Garten der Familie nicht gelangweilt. Die 'Alte Schmiede' hat alles was man braucht und die Familie Steinert ist sehr gastfreundlich. Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!' Wim, Ann und Elena Michiel-Kiebooms aus Lier, Belgien.

Es geht einfach nicht besser! Die Angaben im Online-Inserat waren korrekt bezüglich der Lage, Ausstattung ect. Der Kontakt mit der Familie Steinert war sehr freundlich und wir fühlten uns sehr gut vorbereitet und betreut. Die Ferienwohnung ist so liebevoll und mit sehr viel Geschmack eingrichtet, dass man sich von Anfang an sehr wohl dort fühlt. Es ist sehr sauber und und viel Liebe zum Detail eingrichtet.
Für Kids und junge Leute ist ganz in der Nähe ein Kletterwald. Die Innenstadt von Erfurt ist für alle sehenswert.
Wir können die Feienwohnung "Alte Schmiede" einfach nur weiterempfehlen!

In unserer genormten Massengesellschaft ist der Aufenthalt in der "Alten Schmiede" eine schöne Abwechslung, besonders für Nostalgiker !
Bewundernswert,mit welchem Geschick, Geschmack und Liebe für`s Detail und den alten Handwerksberuf,
das Gebäude wieder hergerichtet und für die Nachwelt erhalten wurde. Dafür gebührt der Familie Steinert, die außerdem sehr gastfreundlich ist,
großen Dank !
Ich denke gerne an die Zeit dort zurück und hoffe, nochmal dort zu verweilen, zumal auch die schöne Landeshauptstadt Erfurt "um die Ecke" liegt und mit dem Bus gut zu erreichen ist.
