Photos and Description of this St. Georgen holiday farmhouse

The apartment Allmendbühl 4 is the half of an ancient farmhouse from 1742. The other half is uninhabited. Parlour, kitchen and toilet are on the ground floor, 4 rooms with double and single beds and an original countrymen bed of the Black Forest are on the upper floor. Attention! The ceiling heights are different and are normally 1.94 metres high. The doors are really lower. There is a historical parlour with a tiled stove in which you can bake excellently, smoke kitchen with a wood oven. The building is free-standing amid of meadows. The next house is 100 m apart. All other houses are really further apart. The sun shines here from the morning until the evening. A countrymen garden and a small pond delight the eye. With old furniture and lovingly chosen furniture items we created a simply, historical atmosphere which is made for vacations. Around the house is a lot of space to play, to sit at the bonfire or to relax.

Notes: According to our offer „holidays in a monument“ we want to make some basic appointments. It is our target to offer historical objects unaltered as possible. This means we show old surfaces, historical equipments and furniture. Everything is lovingly arranged and in a well-kept condition. But we do not abandon on things which usually are described as comfort (no TV, microwave oven, dish washer). Altogether the life demands for positive stand-by in our house to look into the things that are given. The life inside should be a creative provocation. In the winter months, especially with stormy weather, there can be losses of the warmth because of the exposed location. Then there are no pleasant temperatures in all rooms. On some farms in the near environment premium food is produced. On demand we can manage them for you. With 6 up to 7 adults and 1 or 2 children the apartment is really occupied.

Real Black Forest

Tyche20 Westport Mayo Ireland
Review Submitted: September 29, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
We unfortunately only had four days stay but they were most enjoyable. We booked very late and were lucky to get a last minute cancellation. The house is a very peacuful relaxing place to be. The house is extremely authentic and it was like travelling back in time.

It is also very central within the Black forest area.

Be warned the ceiling are very low-having said that I am almost 2 m tall even with the occasional bumped head I am still looking forward to a return visit soon. I would highly recommend researching the Black Forest guest card before you arrive.

Our sons loved chopping wood for the stove which by the way is very quick to heat.Lovely house lovely people.

magical museum is yours for your holiday home

We love the Alsace of France but this year took one step further into the Black Forest for the second week of our self catering summer holiday.

How we discovered Angelika's lovingly kept and presented farmhouse we will never know - but we saw it on their website and booked a week that was to be filled with such sweet memories and magical moments - I will never forget our arrival and being shown around the building, every room making our eyes widen and jaws drop further.

The photographs don't even do it justice - and they are beautiful anyway! In spite of rainy weather, we always managed to enjoy the house, every single day and felt so lucky to have the place to ourselves, its peace, its beauty and its unspoilt historical character.

To enjoy this holiday home you will need to prepare yourselves to accept the challenge to forget all modern conveniences, ways of cooking and keeping warm. Even if it looks very old, everything here works!

Nearby St. Georgen town will provide your basic needs and from here you can journey easily by train or bus, using the free guest card. Or, you can read and relax and look at the wonderful countryside and views, listen to the running spring water and just enjoy how lucky you are to have found the place.

Ferien im Baudenkmal

Esor Berlin
Review Submitted: August 14, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008

Review Submitted: July 3, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008

hnf Basel, Schweiz
Review Submitted: June 23, 2008 Date of Stay: March 2008
