Apartments are located on the boarder of the woods - absolutely quiet. Double bed and convertible couch replaced in 2008. Flat screen cable TV ( 2009 ) and DVD player available. Well selected equipment to feel comfortable. Original restaurants and best shopping possibilities within walking distance - 5 min to go to center of the village and teleferic. Good parking possibilities. Indoor heatable swimming pool in the same building - lawn for sunbathing with beautiful view on the mountains in summer.

The apartment is a calm and bright newly renovated 2 room flat for up to 4 persons. You can use a kitchen, bathroom with bathtub and separate WC. It has a south oriented balcony with great view on the Alps for unforgettable moments! For your entertainment you will find a new LCD flat sreen TV ( Sony Bravia 2009 ) with DVD player. Equipment for cheese fondue and raclette available. There is a large heated indoor pool in the same building.

Ski paradise in winter season – hiking and climbing in magic nature in spring, summer and autumn. Zinal is surrounded by 5 mountains over 4000m and offers fantastic panorama. During winter the local ski pass gives access to 5 skiing domains of the valley with 220km of skiing slopes ( 70km downhill + 19,5km cross-country in Zinal – partly lit up until 21:00). Despite of all it's attractions Zinal is not crowded! Ideal for families with slopes for children and beginners and with ski schools and childrens nursery. But also challenges for experienced skiers with black and mogul slopes and lot of deep snow all around. Breathtaking runs from 3000m down to Zinal or Grimentz. New: 77 snow machines installed for more than 35 acres. At the end of the day, enjoy a typical cheese fondue or raclette with a local Fendant white wine in one of the traditional restaurants.

Additionnal 35 € (30 € for studio) will be charged for final cleaning. Bedlinen and towels should be brought by the renter but could also be rented in Zinal village.

A week was not really sufficient to explore all that there is to see in this superb location. Everything about the appartment is exactly as advertised and we would have no hesitation in giving this the highest recommendation.

Among the mountains

It is probably best to arrive here in the dark because when you open the balcony curtains the next morning you will be stunned by the view! There can be none better in Zinal.
The apartment is what it says it is, compact and suitable for a couple, of which one must be tidy:). We soon worked into a regime that made the most of the seemly small apartment and after two days realized that either it was not so small or we did not need as much space as we thought. The cooking facilities of only two rings is a challenge to the culinary mind but there is everything else to make things easier and possible.
As we drove from Scotland to Zinal we did not have to use the excellent public transport but on occasion we did, just because it was so good. A wide choice of skiing - a variety of scenery and a never ending supply of places to explore makes this one of the best resorts for those wishing to escape the package holiday syndrome.
We have already booked again for 2010 - but longer - the view from the balcony needs more study!!!!

Winter sports in Zinal

Just returned from a lovely skiing trip to the Val Anniviers. The snow was good and deep and the sun shone. The appartment was adequate in a quiet part of the village just above the town. The absence of a navette bus makes it more suitable for adults as children wouldn't appreciate the uphill walk after a day's skiing. The skiing is not door to door so is more typical of Swiss ambiance.
The proximaty of the other villages all with high skiing means plenty of variety without the boredom of yo-yo skiing. In fact we chose to ski the other resorts depending on the weather conditions eg. sunny St.Luc on sunny days, closer Zinal when the weather looked as if was closing in.
A car is a definite advantage for getting around, but public transport is also possible with a little planning. All in all a fabulous valley for the discerning person looking for a quiet place ( not once did we have to queue for a lift), and is prepared to make a little effort for great reward.

Frau Kraushaar aus Bonn – „Sommer 2005: Bei den Touren sind wir abwechselnd von Zinal und den Nachbarorten aus gestartet, damit man jeden Tag ein anderes Panorama genießen konnte. 1. Tag: Von der Staumauer des Lac de Moiry am Seeufer entlang (traumhafte Alpenflora und fantastischer Blick auf See und Gletscher!) und dann hoch zur Cabane de Moiry. Zum Einwandern eine tolle Wanderung. Die Hütte ist einzigartig gelegen, wir haben dort anderthalb Stunden Pause gemacht und die Gletscher bewundert. Auf dem späten Rückweg liefen uns dann am Lac die Murmeltiere fast 'über die Füße'. 2. Tag: Für Mittag waren Gewitter angekündigt, deshalb nur eine kleine Tour zur Petit-Mountet-Hütte. Hübsche Einblicke in die Schlucht und auf die Wasserfälle. 3. Tag: Nach der Besichtigung vom 'Postkartendorf' Grimetz über die Weiden und Wald hoch nach Bendolla.“ Anmerkung Vermieter: den ausführlichen Bericht der 7 Tage schicke ich Ihnen auf Wunsch gerne zu.

Einfach schön

Morgens aufstehen, auf die Terrasse treten und auf Zinals Bergwelt gucken: Das ist sehr eindrucksvoll und aus dem 5. Stock unverstellt möglich. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt, das Apartment bietet alles, was Urlauber zum guten Leben brauchen und ist liebevoll eingerichtet. Gemütlich und modern mischen sich gut. Wir kommen wieder - vielleicht auch mal im Sommer, um Berge, Täler, Bäche und Gletscher in kurzen Hosen zu genießen.
