Casa Callepiedra is a recently rebuilt two-storey villa on a rocky outcrop overlooking the lush valley of Hermigua, the focal point of La Gomera's eco-tourism industry, yet within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops and other amenities. It offers spectacular views of both mountains and sea, with Tenerife and the Teide volcano as a backdrop. The rental apartment, which covers the 60 sq m lower floor plus terrace and three-tiered garden plot, features a spacious and fully equipped bathroom, kitchen and dining area, set in wood and tastefully decorated whitewashed walls - but no TV! The main sleeping accommodation is a double bed separated from the living area by a curtain. There is also a single bed for a third guest. Casa Callepiedra offers a tranquil and comfortable base from which you can explore the island, far removed from the beach culture of Valle Gran Rey, and is particularly suited to walkers, cyclists and nature lovers.

Ibo Alfaro is a hamlet overlooking the green and unspoilt valley of Hermigua, about 1 km inland and set against a backdrop of hillside and ocean. Although off the main tourist trail, the village that runs along the valley base offers a wide range of facilities for visitors, including food shops, handicrafts, many excellent bars and restaurants, a saltwater swimming pool and sports and leisure amenities. Most of the above are within easy walking distance of Casa Callepiedra. Hermigua is situated in La Gomera's northeast, close to the island's wet zone on the edge of the Garajonay national park and forest that covers the island's summit, and the departure point for a number of the island's most spectacular walks. The summers are dry, but visitors may experience the occasional rainy day during the cooler months. The valleys a short car ride away to the south offer virtually guaranteed year-round sunshine, notably at the easy-paced beach resort of Playa Santiago.

Der Ausblick aus dem Wohnzimmer ist tatsächlich so wie auf den Fotos zu sehen: einfach traumhaft. Das von außen schlicht aussehende, verwinkelte Haus, das auf einer engen Straße mit Stufen erreicht wird, entpuppt sich erst nach Betreten als Überraschung:

Die große Terrasse mit ihrem Panoramablick und die sehr praktisch und geschmackvoll eingerichtete Wohnung zeigt, dass hier sympathische Eigentümer mit viel persönlichem Engagement zur Hand waren.

Wir fühlten uns gut betreut und fanden uns schnell zurecht.

Da wir immer gerne selbst kochen, können wir nichts über die Restaurants im Umkreis sagen.
Doch die Küche ist sehr nützlich ausgestattet. In nächster Umgebung kann man auch sehr gut frische Produkte einkaufen.

Sehr empfehlenswert für Naturliebhaber mit Mietwagen, denn so lassen sich am einfachsten die schönen Meeresbuchten und Starts für Wanderungen erreichen. Ein sehr guter Ausgangspunkt für die Entdeckung der gesamten Insel.

Wir werden wieder kommen!

Extrem ruhige Lage

Dies ist eine wundervolle Ferienwohnung, in absolut ruhiger Lage. Einzig das Kochgeschirr ließ etwas zu wünschen übrig, alles andere ist zwar teilweise etwas einfacher aber sehr sauber und gepflegt.
Die Aussicht von der wunderbaren Terasse ist einfach unglaublich und lädt zu einem Frühstück mit Blick auf den Sonnenaufgang und Spaniens höchstem Berg ein.

Man lebt mitten unter den herzlichen "Ureinwohnern" Hermiguas und bekommt das Treiben der Dorfbewohner hautnah mit. Herrliche Wanderwege starten zum Teil direkt vor der Haustüre und man kann alle Vegetationsstufen La Gomeras an einem Tag per Pedes erreichen.

Simone und Jörg haben sich hier im September 2008 rundum wohl gefühlt, danke für dieses kleine Ferienparadies.

Erholsame Woche mit traumhaften Ausblick

Wir verbrachten eine sehr angenehme und erholsame Woche in Hermigua. Die Buchungsabwicklung lief problemlos. Den Schlüssel vor Ort erhielten wir von einer netten Nachbarin. Die Ferienwohnung ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und bietet für 2 Personen jede Menge Platz. Der richtige Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen. Oder um einfach die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und lädt zum Kochen ein. Traumhaft ist der Ausblick von der Terrasse, besonders wenn man früh am Morgen freien Blick auf Teneriffa hatte. Wenn man ausser Hermigua auch die restliche Insel erkunden will, so empfiehlt sich ein Mietauto. Leckeres Essen gibt es u.a. in der Piloto-Bar. Falls wir es mal wieder nach Gomera schaffen, kommen wir gerne wieder hierher!
Owner's Response: Die Pilito-Bar gibt es leider nicht mehr - aber dagegen eine noch bessere Moeglichkeit (Bar Macondo) im benachbarten La Caleta.

Sehr schöner Gomera Urlaub

Die Abwicklung war problemlos, die Lage-Angaben so gut daß die Wohnung einfach zu finden war. Solide ausgestattet, gemütlich und toller Blick über das Tal Richtung Teneriffa. Nette Terasse wo wir oft gefrühstückt haben.
Ziemlich ruhige Lage, inmitten von einheimischen Häusern, kein 'Feriendorf'. Recht gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und guter Bäcker (hat auch Frühstück) im Ort. Ein paar Worte Spanisch gelernt zu haben ist von Vorteil...
Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis meines Erachten ausgezeichnet.
Nachteile: Man braucht ein Auto (es sei denn man ist sehr, sehr sportlich!). Nächster Badestrand zu Fuß schätze ich gute 2h (ist aber ein sehr schöner Strand). Restaurants zu Fuß zu erreichen ist auch eher eine Herausforderung. Und für die meisten attraktiven Wanderungen muß man doch ein Stück fahren. Der Garten ist ziemlich verwildert und kaum nutzbar (Steilhang).
Owner's Response: Auto braucht man eigentlich ueberall auf La G und baden kann man bei guenstigem Wetter am Strand von Hermigua (40 Mn zu Fuss). 'Verwildet' ist der Garten nicht mehr, und zum Sitzen und Grillen ist er einwandfrei geeignet.

Schöne Wanderferien auf Gomera

Wir haben in den Osetrferien 2007 wieder einmal Gomera besucht. Diesmal sollte es mal eine andere Ecke dieser schönen Insel sein. Das Ferienhaus im Norden der Insel liegt wunderschön, und wir waren begeistert von dem gandiosen Ausblick bis nach Teneriffa und der Ruhe.....nur die Ziegen waren zu hören. Das Haus ist toll ausgestattet und sehr gepfegt, alles zum Kochen etc ist vorhanden. Die vielen Wanderunterlagen haben es uns einfach gemacht die verschiedenen Wandermöglichkeiten direkt von der Haustür aus zu testen. Es war wunderbar. Wir denken gerne an die schönen Tage dort zurück und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Die Buchung mit dem Vermieter war schnell und ohne Komplikationen.
