Dalsland unique landscape:
Dalsland has a unique landscape. There are very few Swedish places that have such a varying landscape within a small area. But nature is not only thing Dalsland can offer. A rich cultural life with many interesting museums and exhibitions create pleasantness. Someone once called the landscape 'a jewel in the arms of Scandinavia' that has been created for tourists. Here is the fantastic Lake Vänern, large and beautiful cornfields of Dalsland, wild forest and large and small lakes. There are plenty of marked tracks for hiking in Dalsland. Dalsland is the perfect place for those who enjoy motorcycling. There are many beautiful stretches of road where one can enjoy the beautiful countryside.
Fishing:
Very few landscapes can offer such exciting fishing as that found in Dalsland. Unbelievable waterways spread themselves out between the hills and dales in the north and the northwestern region. Here one can catch fully-grown pike, some of them up to 4 kg and over. There are also salmon, salmon trout, char, coarse perch and many other white fish. In the southern area, there are fully stocked lakes, where in some of them, it is possible to catch pike-perch (in America called walleyed pike).
Golf:
There are plenty of opportunities to play a round of golf in Dalsland, as there are 18-hole courses in Åmål, Mellerud and Färgelanda that, each its own special way, characterises the Dalsland landscape. Färgelanda Golf Club has been found to be one of West Sweden`s easily- located 18-hole courses. It is scenically situated adjacent to Ellenös Lake in the municipality of Färgelanda. It is considered to be a moderately difficult course to play on.
