Photos and Description of this Villach-Warmbad/Lake Faak/Lake Ossiach holiday house Dear guests! We are completely booked for 2008. Thank you!

The house is located 2 m away from the bank (beach). From your bedroom as well as from the living room you have direct access to the sun terrace that is situated 2 m over the lake and the boathouse. Below you can find a rowboat for our guests and a swimming pier with springboard. From the terrace you have a wonderful panoramic view of the lake and of the peaks of the Julian Alps. Our house is located at the sun side of the 10 km long Ossiacher lake at the foot of the ‘Gerlitze’ with a height of 2000 m, an extension of the Gurktaler Alps. The water of the lake has drinking water qualities and warms up to 28°C. The house with 80 m² is personally arranged for 4 people with 2 bedrooms (2 master beds in one and a French double bed in the other room), bathroom, separate toilet, modern and completely equipped kitchen and combined living/dining room with couch and fireplace. Private parking space available. Pets on request!

Sattendorf is a small village, idyllically located at the foot of the ‘Gerlitze’. In the local taverns available by foot, you can eat fish directly from the lake. Tennis courts and boat landing stages are 400 m away. By boat you go to Ossiach (also on musical moonlight tours), whose baroque monastery is located pictorially at the edge of the lake. Here you can listen to musical events during the ‘Carinthische Sommer’. Directly from the taverns you can enjoy the view of the whole lake. From the neighbour town the mountain railway leads you to the ‘Gerlitze’ for hiking in 20 minutes. Up here you can see the snow topped Hohen Tauern in the north and the Julian and Karnian Alps in the south. The capital town of Klagenfurt seduces by its pictorial renaissance courtyards for strolling. 20 km to the Italian as well as the Slovenian border. To Venice, Triest, Gardo, Vienna and Salzburg you have to drive about 2.5 hours.

Notes: Our house is an old family property that we rent, because we operate abroad. It is personally arranged. The living room equipped with a three-piece suite in front of the open fireplace. The kitchen is richly and completely equipped. In the bedroom with separate master beds the mattresses measure 2 x 1 m, additionally there is a sink with warm and cold water. The room has direct access to the surrounding balcony. The French double bed of the second bedroom measures 1.8 x 1.4 m. From here you have direct access to the sun terrace. Both bedrooms have oak floor.

Sights: ‘Ruine Landskorn’ with raptor show. Great view of lake and land from the terrace of the restaurant. Natural reserve ‘Dobratsch’ with botanic garden. Here you can find the flora of the Alps in its natural location. Beautiful views from the graters of the mountain ‘Madalensberg’: Celtic and Roman archaeological excavations. Here the Celts still process and sell ‘nordic iron’ that used to be as hard as steel. The doll museum ‘Elli Riehl’ in Treffen. ‘Church day in Villach’ at the first Saturday in August: historical costume parade from Känten, Friaul and Krain (Slovenia). Former capital city ‘St. Veit’.

Activities: October perfect for autumn mountain hiking in colourful mountain forests. There is a rowboat available for our guests. Royal spa ‘Warmbad’ swimming in the ‘Erlebnistherme’ spa baths in radon containing water, that means from the depths of ‘Dobratsch’. Summer toboggan run at ‘Verditz’, ‘Ossiach’ and ‘Finkenstein’. Mountain hiking on the ‘Dobratsch’ and the ‘Gerlitzen’. On the ‘Gerlitzen’ there is a surmounting help from Annenheim. ‘Carinthischer Sommer’: concerts in the baroque former monastery abbey at the beautiful eastern bank of the lake in July and August. The Roman ‘Stiftsanlage Millstatt’ hosts large choirs and orchestras, as well as chamber musicians from May until October. The national theatre in Klagendfurt (Art Nouveau) holds operas, operettas and plays. In the ‘Burg-Arena Finkenstein’ you can listen to operas and pop-singers.

Arrival: Autobahn exit ‘Villach-Ossiachersee’ at the A 10. You follow the B 94 heading to Feldkirchen at the northern side of the lake. After Annenheim you reach Sattendorf and take a left into the town. Further details in an additional writing.

Es war einfach nur schön, schön, schön! 'Vom ersten Tag unserer Ankunft bis zum letzten Tag herrlicher Sonnenschein. Wo könnte es schöner sein, denn hier? Der See erschien uns an jedem Tag in neuer Pracht. Vormittags die Terrasse genießen, nachmittags im Schutz des Baumes sitzen. Etwas Fitness an der Tischtennis-Platte, die Abende ein besonderer Moment, wenn sich die Ruhe über dem See ausbreitet! Im Haus nichts, was es nicht gab, alles perfekt und praktisch. Man kommt an und ist einfach zuhause! Noch nie haben wir uns vom ersten Moment an im Urlaub so wohl gefühlt und eines ist gewiss, wir kommen wieder! Nicht zu vergessen die nette Einweisung von Frau Winkler. Danke, dass Ihr Haus für 14 Tage unser Haus sein durfte und ungern verlassen wir diesen wundervollen Ort. Wir haben einen sehr schönen Urlaub in "unserem kleinen Haus" am See verbracht. Spielen, fischen, Enten und Schwäne beobachten, wandern, in die Pilze gehen, bummeln, genießen, einfach die Seele baumeln lassen - alles war möglich. Gerne möchten wir wiederkommen. Danke!

.... so fühlten wir uns, während und nach unserem Urlaub in diesem komfortablen Haus. Die Ausstattung ist perfekt, die Lage, direkt am Ossiacher See, einzigartig. Ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für sightseeing: ob nun zum shoppen nach Villach oder Klagenfurt, zum Wandern auf den Dobratsch oder Gerlitzen, oder entlang einer der vielen Almstraßen. Nach unseren Ausflügen haben wir uns jeden Tag gefreut in unser "Zuhause" zurück zu kehren. Einige Tage haben wir ausschließlich auf der Sonnenterasse verbracht. Nach einem erfrischenden Bad im klaren See kann man stundenlang auf der Terasse sitzen und einfach die Seele baumeln lassen. Wir kennen einige Ferienhäuser in Europa - dies war unser schönster Urlaub und wir möchten gerne wiederkommen.
