Podere Le Querci is an old Tuscan farm-house with strong walls built of natural stone. Situated on a hill-ridge it offers you beautiful views of the Merse valley and of the smooth hills of the “Colline Metallifere” and invites to spend relaxing holidays. It is surrounded by pastures, rows of olive-trees and high locust-trees. The apartments are newly renovated and well equipped, yet preserve the old Tuscan atmosphere (for instance, pavements made of cotto, ceilings with chestnut beams). All apartments have got terraces of their own, where one can enjoy the sun and find shade too. In the romantic courtyard there is a big covered terrace for barbecue and table-tennis. The small swimming-pool (4m diameter, 1,20m depth) is ecologically maintained without use of chemicals.

Il Seccatoio is a small house, situated near the main farm-house. Years ago it was a place for drying chestnuts, but now it is a nice and cosy one-room-apartment for two persons with a small kitchen and a bath-room. It can be heated by a cast-iron stove.

The “Colline Metallifere” – where Chiusdino and Podere Le Querci are situated - create a harmonious landscape of smooth hills shaped by old extinct volcanoes. Here you can enjoy an ancient rural Tuscany with a lot of “macchia”, woods and small beautiful rivers. There are inviting places, creeks and a small waterfall (10 min. by car) for taking a bath in the hot summer season. Chiusdino and our place offer you a healthy climate, being situated at about 500m above sea level. Our small town, Chiusdino, is situated on top of a hill not far from Podere Le Querci (15 minute walk). Here you will find bars/pubs, restaurants with typical Tuscan food, doctors, a pharmacy and all necessary services. Chiusdino invites you to take walks through the narrow old streets and passages and to discover its historical background. It offers a varied popular program of cultural events (music, theatre, dance) in the summer.

Sightseeing and excursions: Down in the valley of the river Merse is the famous abbey of San Galgano. Here you can see the sword that the saint Galgano planted in the rock 800 years ago. If you like hot thermal baths you can drive to Petriolo (35min), an old Roman bath. In “macchia” and forests and along the rivers Merse and Farma there are lovely paths for walking tours, going through vast wild-life reserves. Culture is also not far away. The city of Siena invites you with its unique “Campo”, where two times a year the world-famous horse-race “Il Palio” is held. And if you like to be by the seaside it is just a 45min drive.

Die Beschreibungen des Vermieters sind absolut korrekt. Die Wohnungen sind sauber, das Gelände bietet sowohl viel Platz für Sonnenanbeter als auch für Schattensuchende. Ruth und Michael nehmen die Gäste liebevoll auf und versorgen sie mit hilfreichen Tipps für wundervolle Ausflüge.

Eine richtig gute Unterkunft in der Toskana.
Es begann schon mit der sehr informativen Internetseite der Vermieter, dann ging es weiter mit dem sehr freundlichen Empfang bei unserer Anreise. Insgesamt wurden wir sehr gut, freundlich aber nicht aufdringlich betreut. Das Gemüse und das Öl, das die Vermieter verkaufen ist sehr gut und immer super frisch.
Chiusdino bietet als kleines Dorf alles was man im Urlaub braucht, gute Restaurants, eine Bank mit Bankomat, einen kleinen und preiswerten "Tante Emma Laden", einmal die Woche Markt, Tankstelle und Bar Tabacchi.
Ohne Pkw ist es einigermaßen zu erreichen, aber bei Busverbindung viermal am Tag nicht wirklich gut. Die Lage in der Nähe von Siena ist auch gut, um die Toskana zu bereisen.

Die Unterkunft ist groß und vor allem sehr gut ausgestattet, gemütlich und sauber.

Eine klare Empfehlung von uns für jede Toskanareise.
Einfach super schön und sehr erholsam.

Natur pur mit Wiedehopf und Orchideen

Ein herzhafter Empfang in dieser wunderschönen Gegend der Toskana. Gut ausgerüstete und saubere Wohnungen und angenehme Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten. Kühle Erfrischung im Naturschwimmbecken mit ausgekügelter Reinigungsanlage laden zu einem Schläfchen in der Hängematte unter den Akazien ein.
Hausgebackenes Brot und frisches Bio-Gemüse aus dem Garten mit eigenem Olivenöl erfreuen den Gaumen.
Bei schönem Wetter in dieser Juni-Woche konnten wir die Kultur-und Badeausflüge ohne Touristenstress geniessen.
Einfach toll, die Toskana im Juni.
Wir kommen garantiert wieder.

Sehr ruhige und schöne Lage, herzliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Liebevoll eingerichtete und saubere Zimmer. Sehr weitläufiges privates Gelände. Ein Ort zum Verlieben und zum Erholen!

Die Lage des Ferienhauses ist wunderbar ruhig im bewaldeten Teil der Toscana. Herrlich urwüchsig die Landschaft, ganz ruhig gelegen, wunderbarer Sternenhimmel und am Haus frisches Gemüse, was will man mehr. Ausflüge nach Siena, Volterra oder ans Meer als Abwechslung. Und gute Beratung durch die deutsch/schweitzer Vermieter, die (fast) Alles möglich machen. Die Wohnung ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und ausgerüstet auch zum Backen/Kochen. Schöne Sitzplätze rund ums Haus.
Sehr erholsam.
