It is a typical wooden Swiss Chalet located in a quiet area not far from the center of the village. The ground floor consists of an Entree, a modern kitchen (rebuilt in 2005), a living room, a bedroom (2 beds) and a bathroom. The basement (with access to the garden) consists of a living room, a second bedroom (with 3 beds, typically for guests or children), a cellar and a heating room. The chalet is located at 1.111 meters above sea level on an 8000 sq ft lot.

Grindelwald is the most important resort in the Jungfrau Region of the Bernese Oberland. It is situated at the foot of the famous Eiger North Face. In the winter, Grindelwald is surrounded by world famous skiing slopes (Kleine Scheidegg Lauberhorn, Grindelwald First). In the summer, hiking and mountain climbing are very popular activities. Grindelwald has many mountain railways and cablecars, including the highest railway station in Europe (Jungfraujoch at 3'454 meters above sea level) and the world's longest cable car (Männlichenbahn).

Travel: By train to Grindelwald: walk approx 10 minutes from train station to the Chalet (moderate ascent). Or: take the local bus to the 'Hotel Bodmi' stop and descend approx. 5 minutes to the chalet. By car: public parking near Hotel Bodmi, 200m from Chalet. Having a car is no necessity in Grindelwald for there are railways and cable cars to almost everywhere, a local bus service and taxi cabs.

Restaurants: In immediate neighbourhood of the chalet: Restaurant 'Grindelwaldstübli', lunch, dinner at moderate prices in cosy atmosphere. Restaurant/Hotel Bodmi (200 m away), breakfast, lunch, dinner. International cuisine. Numerous restaurants in Grindelwald, 10 min foot walk away.

Ski: Grindelwald is in the centre of the main skiing region in the Bernese Oberland (often called the 'Jungfrau Region'). The chalet is situated in the ski basic training area (Ski-Schule) of Grindelwald with a small ski lift. This area offers night skiing on tuesday and Friday evenings. The major skiing areas are: Grindelwald-First: the station of the cable car can be reached by ski at approx 400m distance. Kleine Scheidegg/Lauberhorn/Männlichen/Wengen: departure at Grindelwald station (by ski, approx. 500 m distance) or at Männlichenbahn station (by car or by local bus).
