Meiringen: The main location of the village is Meiringen which you can reach within 5 minutes by car starting at the Wychel. Chose the exit ‘Innertkirchen Post’ or ‘Aareschlucht’ when taking our local tram MIB. Meiringen offers a variety of good shops and restaurants and provides a swimming bath, tennis courts, and a climbing wall. In summer time you can listen to the first-class music weeks in the acoustically outstanding church. Meiringen is the starting point for excursions by tram to Interlaken or Luzern and for experienced excursions into to the mountains via post car.
Excursions from Innertkirchen/Meiringen: Especially recommended day trips via post car are: ‘Rosenlaui-Schwarzwaldalp-Grosse Scheidegg’ 1961 m - It is an impressive valley of an alpine world of mountain and glaciers with a connection via post car between Meiringen and ‘Grindelwald’. ‘Engstlenalp’ with ‘Engstle lake’ 1850 m – A romantic target with inimitable biota, worth of a visit. Stone glacier at the ‘Susterpass’ 1865 m – Instructive glacier path submontane the stone glacier – ‘Grimselpass’. Wild romantic Alpine pass with wonderful hiking trails along the reservoirs. Cristal grotto ‘Gerstenegg’, turbine repair shop plant ‘Oberhasli’ corporation, aerial passenger line ‘Handeck-Gerstenegg’, adhesion steam engine from 1910 – 1913 on the way to Interlake-Giswil via the ‘Bruenigpass’.
Ski:
The large ski regions are named ‘Meiringen-Hasliberg’ (valley station reachable within 5 minutes) and ‚Axalp ob Brienz’. 80 km prepared slopes, 22 lifts, deep snow regions, 2 children’s paradises, and 2 ski and snowboards schools are provided. The freestyle park for snowboarder ad freestyle-oriented skier is situated at the ‘Maegisaklp’ (Hasliberg). Various jumps of 5 – 20 metres, different rails, a lift as well as a corner and quarter jump belong to its assortment. Find the following small facilities in the surrounding of ‘Innertkirchen’: ski lift ‘Wyler ob Innertkirchen’ (directed via ‘Gadmen/Susten), ski lift ‘Guttannen Küüsacher’, ski lift ‘’Gadmen’ at the main road, aerial passenger line ‘Handegg-Gerstenegg’ (incline – LSB), starting point for many unique ski slopes. The centre of ski touring ‘Gadmen’ offers 10 – 15 km classical and skating as well as 5 km night slopes. In the region various good sledge slopes (18 km) are available.
