Golf Course Donnerskirchen: Neusiedlersee lake/Donnerskirchen Golfing. The unique golf course is located in Donnerskirchen at the foot of the Leithagebirge mountains, encircled by reed. The Danube Golf Club at Neusiedlersee lake was opened in 1990. It owns its special character to its location in a unique climate zone. This 18-hole championship course features numerous water obstacles enclosed by high reed and dense, natural rough. It was the host of the European Challenge Tour 1994 and 1995. The stiff breeze around here makes playing golf really exciting. The greens are layed out in a lively way so that you will be confronted with tricky, long putts. The flat course reminding of Scottish courses, offers some attractive holes for the eye. Even if you just want to try it out - Donnerskirchen is the perfect place for you!

The lake Neusiedl region: Designated a World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESO, the region around Central Europe’s largest steppe lake is one of 700 cultural and natural heritage sites in the world. Lake Neusiedl was jointly nominated by Austria and Hungary as a transnational cultural landscape. On the Austrian side, the area of the new world heritage site covers the lake as its core area and the surrounding scenery. On the Hungarian side it extends to the Fertö-Hanság National Park and the settlement Fertörákos. The region around lake Neusiedl has countless activities on offer for activity and sports-loving holiday-makers. Providing ample proof, the wind statistics make the “sea of the Viennese”, as the lake is jocularly nicknamed, a premier destination for sailing, surfing, kiting and water sports of any kind.
