Golf:
The Lido of Venice is also known for its international golf club (Golf Club Alberoni), inaugurated in 1930 by Count Giuseppe Volpi and built on the site of an historic military fort. Due to its meandering 18 holes carved through green pastures and pine trees, the course is today considered one of the most beautiful in Europe.
