This fisherman’s house is situated at a very romantic place: in the fisherman’s wharf of Cala Figuera. It’s a real fortune finding a fisherman’s family who offers such a jewel for rent. Directly from the house you can walk on a wooden planked way to the lighthouse. All visitors, who want to see it, can only go thereto by feet, so calmness around your house and maintenance of the idyllic atmosphere are guaranteed. The house was built at a sunny and dry place, but you can directly look down to the water of the sea. You surely will appreciate the fortune of passing your holidays in such a lovely maritime surrounding. You have chosen such a sensational place to perceive the special atmosphere of the Mediterranean culture: A landscape, which reminds of former times and had not got lost. A place, where you can notice this special island feeling.

Formerly being place of rescue for the fishermen it meanwhile changed into a little harbour, where boats sometimes come and go. The port is very quiet, because there are only a few berths. During the last years the harbour was slightly embellished. Furthermore cars are not allowed in the near surrounding of the port, so that everyone has to go by feet. If you like to eat fish, you´ll surely find some specialties in one of the good restaurants. These, together with some bars, coffee-terraces with marvellous views and the impressive landscape create the unique atmosphere of Cala Figuera. As there are only a view apartments for rent and some little hotels there is not too much tourism. Sometimes a bus comes with daily tourists, who want to have a look at the harbour, but this has nearly no influence on the daily life. You can go swimming from special-signed rock-terraces or you drive with a glass-bottom boat to one of the sandy beaches Cala Mondrago or S’Amarador.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The basic price is valid for 4 persons/night. Each further guest has to pay € 10,--/night. Children have to pay the full amount. Final cleaning will be charged with € 80,--.
    While starting the renting period a deposit of € 150,-- (cash) is required. This will be given back after your holidays, provided, that everything was kept in good condition. Cleaning and change of bed linen will be done weekly by the owners of the house, but you have to bring your own beach towels with you.
  • In case of final booking you will receive by e-mail or post a confirmation, a special description how to reach the house and information about the car, if rented one. After having received this, a payment on account of 30 % of the total sum has to be transferred on the owner´s account. The remaining amount has to be paid on arrival. If possible, someone (English speaking) is prepared to meet you on arrival at each day or night time to welcome you, hand over the keys and give you a short explanation of special house details. This person also is allowed by the owner of the house to cash the remaining amount against receipt. We want you to feel secure as having booked your holiday house via internet.

Notes: The former fisherman’s house can be entered from two sides: Once by a footpath from the harbour mole or from the upper street, passing by a small way and a slightly slope garden. Some stairs lead you down to the small house, which consists of three floors. In the centre of the first floor is the living-room, also used as dining-room with connected kitchenette. At two sides of the living-room is the big balcony with marvellous view over the harbour. From the wide central entry you go down one floor to one bedroom with French bed. Next door is one bedroom with one single bed for child's 70X160 but possibility to pull out one more. Next door is the bathroom with shower, WC and bidet. Passing by the entrance, going down the stairs you find another bedroom with two single beds. From this floor you come directly to the wooden planked way, which goes alongside the harbour. The complete equipment of the house can’t be described ‘luxury’, but fulfils the needs of a Majorcan family.

Beaches nearby: Cala Santanyi: Lots of possibilities to get a walk along the extraordinary steep coast. E.g. you´ll see some rocks forming of a gate, the so-called “El Portas”, which can often be found on holiday cards. Below in the naturally kept bay you´ll find a quiet fine-sandy beach. Cala Llombards: Here are four bays in the near surrounding with sensationally clear water. Cala Mondrago: This is the biggest beach nearby and is kept under natural protection. Here are only two little hotels. It also is a good start for having a walk to some archaeological points. S’Aramador: Can be reached easily by feet or car from Cala Figuera and offers good conditions for families with children as it is going down slightly from the beach into the water. Deckchairs and sunshades can be rented. Some pines also give a little bit of shade. A small way connects two bays.

Santanyi: This village is situated in the south-east of Mallorca and due to its architectural form it could preserve the original flair. There are some small restaurants, street cafés, grocery shops, a wide range of shops, one doctor, a pharmacy etc., so that surely all your requests will be met. Besides this, there are fiestas and weekly markets (Wednesday and Saturday) during the whole year.

Golf: Furthermore Val d’Or, which is one of the best-known golf courses of the island with its completely renewed club centre and the marvellous view to Cala d’Or and the harbour of Porto Colom is only a view minutes away (by car). Golf lessons for small groups from beginners to advanced levels are offered on request - in English, Spanish or German language. Also for non-golfers a visit to Val d’Or is worthwhile.

Täglich nimmt das Meer die Sanftheit eines Aquarellgemäldes an. Wenn der Tag sonnig und klar war und die Sonne beginnt unterzugehen, die Wellen brechen gegen die Küste. Der Widerhall erschallt aus der Ferne und sobald die Farbtöne sich langsam verdunkeln, erscheint in der Ferne das Profil und das Zwinkern des Leuchtturm's. Poesia von Luzia Schmid, Dietingen

absolute traumlage

um es auf den punkt zu bringen: schöner kann man in cala figuera nicht wohnen. das haus liegt direkt am wasser, man thront förmlich über dem wunderschönen fjord mit seinen putzigen kleinen fischerbooten. der fjord wird sogar von einigen einheimischen auch als schwimmstrecke bzw. für aquafitness benutzt. nur einige gehminuten vom haus entfernt kann man von den klippen ins glasklare meer springen, ein vergnügen insbesondere nach morgendlichem joggen. das haus ist von innen liebevoll restauriert und sehr sauber. es gibt keinen luxus, alles ist sehr zweckmäßig und völlig ausreichend. für sonnenhungrige steht eine terrasse zur verfügung, die im sommer für mehrere stunden ordentlich sonnenstrahlen abbekommt. kleinere kinder können direkt vor dem haus kleine krebse und fische fangen, um sie natürlich anschließend wieder ins meer zurückzusetzen. wir hatten einen fantastischen urlaub und fühlten uns pudelwohl.
