If you want an espresso, a pizza, to go to the bank or to get some groceries you head for the village of Santa Luce. A larger supermarket and the sea are 15 minutes away. The township of Santa Luce has 320 hectares, (about 650 acres), of woodland, wheat fields, vineyards and the nature reserve which offers various possibilities for occupying your free-time. The countryside is dotted with medieval villages on gentile hillsides, which in this area of Tuscany are famous for their change of colours depending on the season and are spectacular all year round. The local farmers produce both optimum wine and olive oil and raise farm animals respecting each species needs and there are various craftsmen in the area. A short drive takes you to the coast, which is rocky south of Livorno, (Leghorn), and sandy in the areas of Rosignano and Vada. All up and down the coast you find restaurants and nightlife.
