The former farmhouse “ Mas Chataigner”, located in the village St. Julien de Cassagnas in the inviting rolling countryside of “pays de Cèze”, has been renovated with a lot of dedication. The big garden, surrounded protectively by the open stone barn is part of the apartments Jaune, Mezzanine and Suite paysanne. From each front door stairs lead to a private terrace and in to the young Garden with fig trees, olive trees, Muriers, Kiwis, Wine and lawn. The common sun terrace is located in the middle of the garden, including an open fireplace adjacent to the wild meadows with a view of the Cevennes. Our cottage is a comfortable place for recreation; it is inviting to relax on the sun terrace, enjoying a lovely dinner designed by the local market while appreciating the sunset in ever changing colours with a good bottle of red wine. Bicycles may be stored in the open stone barn, parking space is available. The village St Julien de Cassagnas is a perfect starting point for sightseeing tours.

At the foot of the Cevennes, the unique low mountain range with endless chestnut forests, cragged rocky countryside and several rivers. It is located between Cézes and Auzonnet, surrounded by olive groves, sunflowers, stone oaks, figs, garrigue countryside, meadowlands and vineyards. The Mediterranean climate with it’s blue and bright skies, it’s refreshing shade, it’s summer breeze and the winter sun. Urlaub!!!

Ein wunderbares Erlebnis wenn Urlaub so wird, wie man ihn sich vorher gewünscht hat. Hier hat einfach alles gestimmt. Die Wohnung in einem liebevoll restaurierten alten Bauernhaus bietet alles was man sich von einer Ferienwohnung wünscht. Hier wurde nicht geknausert und die Erstausstattung ist eine wunderbare Erleichterung für die ersten Urlaubstage. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und helfen gerne bei allen Fragen ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Man merkt, daß es ihnen Freude macht ihren Gästen einen schönen Urlaub zu bieten. Wir hoffen bald wieder nach Mas Chataigner reisen zu können und haben jeden Tag in dieser wunderbaren Landschaft genossen. Das Dorf hat noch viel Ursprünglichkeit und die Menschen sind hilfsbereit und nett. Irgendwie gehen die Uhren langsamer .... einfach schön.

Wir haben die Ferienwohnung Mezzanine kurzfristig für die Zeit vom 28.04. bis 03.05.09 gebucht und waren schier begeistert. Es wurde mit viel Liebe zum Detail sowohl bei der Inneneinrichtung als auch bei den Außenanlagen gearbeitet. Jede Wohnung hat Ihre eigene Terrasse für die Open-Air-Nahrungsaufnahme aber auch an eine gemeinsame Feuerstelle für ein gemütliches Lagerfeuer ist gedacht. Der morgendliche kurze Gang zum Bäcker (das obligatorische Baguette und die Croissants) gehörte ebenso zum Urlaubsvergnügen wie die Möglichkeit im Urlaubsort und in der unmittelbaren Umgebung das ursprüngliche Südfrankreich kennenzulernen. Da wir mit dem Auto vor Ort waren, sind wir schnell und problemlos in Richtung Nimes, Uzes, Pont du Gard oder auch in die Ardeche-Schlucht gekommen. (ein wenig Sightseeing musste sein). Selbst das Meer ist nur ca. 90 Autominuten entfernt. Da sich der Pool noch im "Wintermodus" befand konnten wir zwar nicht vor Ort plantschen aber auch für diese Art der Abkühlung ist entsprechend gesorgt. Mit anderen Worten: jederzeit wieder!

Herbsturlaub in St Julien de Cassagnas

Wir haben im Oktober in der Ferienwohnung "Mezzanine" einen wunderschönen Herbsturlaub verbracht (Familie mit 3 Kindern (1,5 u.10 J.). Die neugestaltete Ferienwohnung im alten Natursteinhaus des ehemaligen Hofes ist sehr geschmackvoll und praktisch eingerichtet. Es fehlte eigenlich nichts. Direkt vor der Wohnung liegt eine Terasse und ein riesiger Garten mit einem grossen Swimmingpool, den wir auch noch im Oktober nutzen konnten.
Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit.
St Julien de Cassagnas (Lebensmittelgeschäft und Bäcker) und die umliegenden Dörfer sind recht verschlafen (zumindest in dieser Jahreszeit) und durch mittelalterliche Steinhäuser und Schlösser geprägt. Die Umgebung ist sehr vielfältig: bergige Landschaften mit Olivenhainen und Eichen und romantische Flusstäler (Badeflüsse!) und Kastanienwälder. Man kann also klasse spaziergehen, fahrradfahren, baden und die Natur geniessen. Im nur 8 km entfernten St. Amboix gibt es einen schönen Wochenmarkt und sämtliche Einkaufsmöglichkeiten.
Weitere Freizeitmöglichkeiten, die wir nutzen, waren ein sehr schöner Hochseilgarten bei Anduze, der Besuch der Höhle von Cocalière und verschiedene romantische Ortschaften.
Ansonsten haben wir im Garten relaxed und die Sonne genossen.
Wir können diese Ferienwohnung sehr weiterempfehlen, insbesondere auch für Familien mit kleinen Kindern.

die liebevoll ausgestaltete Ferienwohnung hat uns begeistert.Wir haben die Umgebung genossen und einen rundum zufriedenstellenden Urlaub verbracht. Ausflugziele oder auch Ruhephasen ließen sich hervorragend vereinbaren.Wir würden dieses Feriendomizil an Freunde gerne weiter empfehlen.

Die Ferienwohnung ist superschön und entspricht genau den Angaben. Pluspunkte sind auch die Bettwäsche und die Handtücher, sowie die Erstausstattung. Als Familie mit 2 kleinen Kindern haben wir den großen Garten, den Pool und die Feuerstelle gerne genutzt. Die Ausflugsmöglichkeiten sind zahlreich (Städte, Meer, Burgen, Flüsse zum Baden, Märkte...) und Tipps werden von den freundlichen Vermietern gerne weitergegeben. Das Dorf ist idyllisch und man kann gut seine Französischkenntnisse im Dorfladen benutzen.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen auf alle Fälle wieder.
