Further details for this holiday house rental in County Cork, Ireland

Glengarriff: The sky is little bit wider; the grass is a little bit greener, and the past a little bit livelier as elsewhere. Ireland fascinates every day again with mysterious monuments, ancient myths and with a delightful nature. Glengarriff is one of southwest of Irelands most beautiful and warm places. Because of its sheltered situation and the warming oceanic influence of the Gulf Stream the climate is in some respect almost subtropical, making it an ideal holiday spot at any time of the year. The Blue Pool Amenity area located near the village is approached from the Pier or the Blue Pool, and several places in between. You can enjoy the woodland and fields as well as the maze of walks that cross each other for the entire area. Glengarriff is a terrific home base for day trips e.g. the ‘Ring of Beara’ along the Beara peninsula, Dursey Island, ‘Ring of Kerry’ to Kenmare and Killarney.

Garnish Island (Ilnacullin): Another must is to visit Garnish Island (Ilnacullin), a small Island of 15 hectares (37 acres) located in the sheltered harbour of Glengarriff, well known to horticulturists and lovers of trees and shrubs all around the world as an island garden of rare beauty. The island is open to visitors each day from 1st March to 31st October. During the winter months, from November to February, it is closed to visitors except by special arrangement. Ilnacullin is reached from Glengarriff by privately operated boats. A charge for admission to Ilnacullin is made by the Office of Public Works on arrival at the island. This charge is quite separate from the fares collected by boat owners.

Horse riding in Bantry: The equestrian centre in the southwest of Ireland owned by famous Charlotte and Heinz Wehrli offers individual programs, individual tuition and individual learning on well-trained and schooled horses in excellent facilities: indoor and outdoor arenas, or cross country courses with top class teachers. You can go out for 1, 2, or 3 hours or have a lesson. Also beautiful guided day trips with spectacular views and picnics (min. 4 riders) are available.

Other Activities: Kayaking

A wonderful week at Caheroge Cottage

John C. Tampa, Florida, USA
Review Submitted: June 15, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
My friends and I stayed at Caheroge Cottage for a week. There were six of us total. The 6 bedroom 4 bathroom house is very spacious and we all felt like we had a lot of room. Each bedroom was large and the kitchen was stocked with all the appliances and dishes we needed and more. We were all excited about the washing machine and dryer. It is very nice to have clean clothes on vacation. The house could have easily accomodated a larger group with all the extra beds and rollaways. The location was great for exploring the Ring of Kerry, Cork County and any adventures in the south of Ireland. The owners are very nice people and they take great pride in this house.
Owner's Response: Thank you very much, we appreciate your stay and are looking forward to welcome you again.

Tolles Haus für viele Leute

Review Submitted: June 18, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Hier stimmt alles.

Luebbers Remscheid, Deutschland
Review Submitted: August 2, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009

Hebches Hessen, Marburg
Review Submitted: July 22, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008

Caheroge cottage for two weeks

Gerry's Party London/Luton/ UK
Review Submitted: March 26, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2007
Stayed at Caheroge cottage for two weeks, had a great time. The beautiful scenery of the West coast of Cork is right on the doorstep and the Ring of Kerry and the lakes of Killarney are close by we really enjoyed these trips. Our hostess Angie was very charming and really made us feel at home. The house is lovely and spacious with plenty of room for our party of 12, and has stunning views over the bay and surrounding mountains. Its secluded wooded location is ideal for a relaxing break. The local restaurants are great and the Guinness in the pubs went down a treat! We’ll certainly be going back.
Owner's Response: Thank you very much, we appreciate your stay and are looking forward to welcome you again
